2014 might be a bit early, I expect most of these games to actually hit in 2015.

I love the whole classic science fiction look of this game; like the guy said it looks like it game off the cover of a novel. A nice change from all the dark and grimey looking stuff that everyone feels they have do these days.

Using 65daysofstatic's best song in the trailer.

Looks awesome. Put this down with The Division under "If it actually has all the cool gooseberry fool I've come up with in my head based off of the trailer, this will be the best thing ever".

I hope Nintendo tries to make this happen on the Wii U. I don't expect that it will, but it would be nice to see nonetheless.

Decent interview with Hello games. Well worth a read.

Every player in No Man’s Sky will begin their life somewhere along the edge of a galaxy. Everything in the trailer takes place in a single solar system near the galaxy’s edge and, red grass aside, on Earth-like planets. “It helps to ground people and I think if we hadn’t shown that, people would go, ‘what the strawberry float?’” Sean Murray, lead developer on No Man’s Sky, is choosing his words carefully. “It’s quite weird to see a thing that isn’t a fish, in the water. And so we have grounded the trailer in a particular solar system that kind of makes sense for people.”

It has a spore art style to it, I likey.

Seems very ambitious for such a small team.

I'm now even more optimistic, but also even more cautious. I'm glad that space games are coming back - and that smaller teams like this and the guys behind Space Engineers are bringing their own spin to it, so it's not all just Star Citizen/Elite Dangerous.

After reading that article I am put off a little bit. So you are flying from planet to planet, mining resources but without the charm of minecraft? You then use these to upgrade your ship, which you will lose if you die?

Sounds a bit repetitive. I am reminded of the space stage of spore.

Such a simple premise didn't prevent me from sinking countless hours into Elite. Sometimes the simple joy of exploration alone is enough. Sounds like it could be a refreshing change from the usual space marine big bollocks nonsense to me.

I've always wanted a space space sim where one could manually land on a planet and take off again. Is it the case that this sort of thing has only now become possible on current tech?
