Do they ever still reset the universe with the updates? I think that has been one of the things putting me off, the impermanence of a potential reset because of change in how things are generated.

I *think* there have been two universe resets in past years, Orange; but these should not alter your own progress in the game in terms of any gear / funds that you have gained. The resets have enabled additional flora / fauna / weathers / sites to be added to planets. I re-started my game from scratch last year to experience the changes from a fresh slate; I haven't played in a while now but I plan to return soon.

Yeah fair play they've worked really hard to claw back their credibility. I can only imagine how long that Sean guy's beard must be now!

I get the impression we'll see this released with 4K graphical update akin to PC in a year and a half for people who never knew or cared about the original controversy. I still intend to play it, but Subnautica and Elite are similar games.

You can now place a bobble head on your ship's dashboard :-) .

Eurogamer wrote:Those that fancy sprucing up their No Man's Sky starship interior with a wobbly bobbly for some lo-fi long-haul amusement will first need to do a bit of work. No Man's Sky's initial two bobblehead variants - inspired by overseers Specialist Polo and Priest Entity Nada - will unlock as progress is made on the game's latest Universal Community Research Project.

Players wishing to assist the global effort to access Polo and Nada can do so by participating in any multiplayer mission listed in the Space Anomaly's Nexus terminal. As more of these are complete, the Research Project progress meter will rise, with Polo becoming available from the Quicksilver Bot once Tier 1 has been reached, and Entity Nada unlocking at Tier 2.

Once available, dashboard bobbleheads can be installed in any starship cockpit, delighting travel-weary spacefarers with their seductively top-heavy sway.

No Man's Sky getting cross-platform multiplayer support this Thursday

Out on Xbox and PC Game Pass at the same time.

In addition to cross-platform support, Thursday's update promises a number of other multiplayer enhancements, including improved lobbies, speech to text, and better fireteams - and they'll be accompanied by VR tweaks and more general quality of life improvement

A lot of Combat improvements, "Teleporters can now be built aboard Freighter Bases. These variants do not require power. They can be used to teleport to other teleporters, or to the Space Station.", "Storage Containers built upon a freighter base now add tabs to the freighter’s inventory page, allowing quick management of freighter inventory contents.", "Fixed an issue that prevented photo missions working correctly on Xbox" - https://www.nomanssky.com/desolation-update/

I'm still messing about at start of game, I've been to local space station and I have to get stuff together for hyper drive fuel. The list of things to mine seems MASSIVE but I presume (I have to presume) that you get to mine stuff more efficiently with upgrades?

With the new update next week, it may be worthwhile playing from a fresh start again.

Looks quality. I just downloaded this again the other week to try the new stuff in the last big patch and they go and do this.

This is currently £17.50 with PS Plus double discounts. Been interested in it for a long time but I think you can still get a physical copy for around the same price due to the backlash and get all the updates with that.

They have done so much to add to this game I think a re-review on some sites may be worth it.

I really want to get a living ship.

Lightning looks so cool.

Would anyone actually be playing this in PS4 to raid or whatever the strawberry float you call it in this? Wouldn't mind just jumping around attacking some vaguely offensive looking aliens or exploring one of those aliens-esque abandoned ships. :)

I got super into this the second half of 2018. When Playstation did that video that showed you the hours of your 3 most played games for the year, I think I was around 400 hours for it. I got a bit pissed off that I spent ages making a network of farms and they got hit with the terrain edit bug, so stopped for a bit... and just never went back. I was so excited about the VR update but for some reason never got around to it. Definitely need to make some time soon.

You may want to check the systems you have visited as some have new planets.-
