If you want a job that isn't English teaching then N2 (or better yet N1) would be phenomenal. I'm probably N4 level and I have basically no interesting career prospects that aren't just "nepotism my way into something else through the contacts I've made". And of course if you find yourself in Tokyo in need of help or someone to have a beer with then you know where to find me.

I'm in decent health - as of my last appointment I was within striking distance of remission, but I've still been a touch unwell lately and I don't want to count my chickens before they hatch. Hopefully it'll be good news in December, but that's what I said this time a year ago too. Leading an otherwise pretty normal life - work, girls, video games, etc. I can't complain too much.

Welcome back K and thank you for sharing your recent experiences, I am glad to hear you are in some more stable state and your career sounds very interesting. My mother was recently diagnosed with some form of cancer so it is personally comforting to me to have a connect who has been through that and had some degree of recovery as I don't currently know what the outlook is like for my mum. Of course always here keepin' GRcade keepin' on and value anyone returning or joining anew to join in with the discussions. Keep well and look forward to seeing more posts from you.

I should, coronavirus pending be going to Japan probably around this time next year and I'll likely be going to Tokyo and hopefully Osaka to meet up with a bunch of different people I've made friends with online over the last 6 months so when I know for sure I'll hit you up!

I'm really sorry to hear about your mother. My prognosis was not great at the time of diagnosis and I still don't really know what my long term prospects are, and it's a constant source of anxiety. It had a terrible toll on my mental health too. I don't really know what to say, cause it felt like no matter what people would say to me at the time of my diagnosis, it was the wrong thing, but best of luck to both of you.

Hey Sandy - that's the first time I've been called Kami in what feels like at least a decade, nostalgic is right.

Hiya.

I used to frequently lurk but infrequently make a fool of my self on both ONM and SONM, even had a few of you on MSN. Also was on LLC and another couple of forums from back in the day that escape me. I see some names I definetly remember, Sandy, KmzR and cocacola just from the last few pages.

Lifes a bit shite at the minute like, even seeing them names is a weirdly comforting nostalgia.

I'm not sure how long I'll stay or what have you but it's cool to be here none the less. Hope everyone is good an' all that.

I have mostly fond memories of MSN and the many long conversations I have with GR forumites.

Hello there.

What was your ONM/SONM name? Just curious really.

I think it was 'Mingoid' but I can't really remember to be honest. There's been 10 years of drunken adventuring since then!

I do actually! It doesn't surprise me that I didn't make much of an impact, I spent most of those days eating space raiders and sleeping.

Welcome to the forum Ming! We have quite a few SONMers here. I know it can feel a bit weird to join a different community, but I hope you'll feel at home here too - we're happy to have you!
