What time are people thinking of getting their trains back at on the Sunday?

Right, people who are looking at a hotel - would it be wise if we all booked the same hotel? Just makes it easier for meeting up and getting back at the end of the night.

Sounds like a good plan. Denny mentioned the Premier Inn. Newcastle crew, any recommendations on somewhere with a good location?

It's a small city centre, so anywhere central is basically fine. I've stayed at the Premier Inn before, (albeit for just a couple of hours (#lad)) and it's fine, but it's all basically ok.

Premier inn on Team Valley might be a good shout. It's a bus ride or couple of quid taxi into Newcastle, literally 5 mins from the centre. It also has a valley farm opposite so spot on for a Sunday hangover.

I'm saying this because I always see the £29 rooms sign on the side.

I dunno, that might be a bit far out. Personally I'd go for somewhere you can fall into at the end of the night.

Personal preference, though, so whatever people wanna do is fine, obviously.

Hm, The New Bridge Street Premier Inn hasn't got any availability on 2nd May so that's out.

The Hilton looks alright.

Had a look but was about £150, bit pricey for a bantsy night out.
Think we've picked a bad weekend for hotels. Bank Holiday so they've jacked the prices up.

Even the Travelodge is £127.

Mayday bank holiday, isn't it? That's going to be a bad weekend, I think.

Just book in for a hostel we'll end up only spending about 5 hours in the room anyway.

I'm OK with that. I always feel a little uneasy when there's a night out and the town is empty. Also increases my chances of finding a girl to crash with for free IF YOU GET WHAT I'M SAYING.*

I agree, bank holiday isn't ideal - I hadn't twigged. I wouldn't worry too much about the bars being busy, and agree with Cora - Newcastle is a spectator sport on the 'big' nights, but it could mean we struggle to get tables anywhere for eating.

Anyway, I'm off on holiday for a week after today and I intend to not look at my phone/a computer throughout.

If you guys reach a consensus on a different date in my absence, feel free to change it. I am free throughout May, and most of June. The only weekend I emphatically can't do is July 4th/5th, as it's the other half's birthday and she still hasn't let me forget the two consecutive years I went to Silverstone. :slol:
