I've seen boosh, (really liked the intro to this week's episode, incidentally, big Boosh energy in that,) and I'm used to his standard of shirt, but this one was giving me unpleasant flashbacks of the early 200s shock site variety.

I'm not sure she's that great/consistent a baker but she is super funny and entertaining, and her final showstopper was spectacular - like a hunk of alien coral reef - and its inspiration was moving.

Who should've gone instead though? I really liked Lizzie but I think the other four are more deserved semi-finalists

I would've said Crystelle as her showstopper was pretty lacklustre by comparison, but yeah, from a technical standpoint Lizzie was probably the least deserving of a spot in the semifinals. I just thought she was brilliant.

Jurgen the only one snubbed for a handshake there. If he goes this week, we riot. :capnscotty:

I remember when a handshake from Paul meant something, he gives them out like anything now. Not watched much of this series to be honest, the final 4 all seem like they could easily win though?

Can't believe Jurgen left, he was the best out of them all. The fact they kept saying his looked boring when he'd made that whole gingerbread gate and then Giuseppe created a field of green with a rice krispies tower in the middle baffles me.

Both Jurgen and Giuseppe have fallen away a bit in the 2nd half of the series. But over the series as a whole, the two of them were still the best overall. Unfortunately for Jurgen, it was a high-quality semi final by everyone.

Glad Christelle got through.

Yep, the way they directly compared Jürgen's 40 piece torii gate with Chigs' 2 piece tree during the bake felt like it was setting up for Chigs getting told he wasn't don't enough, but no. And how they could criticise the colour of those matcha boats, but barely comment on the apples that looked a kind of sickly purple is also mad.

Jürgen and Chrystelle were the two that produced showstoppers that looked like the really were semi final standard. Giuseppe and Chigs I think were pretty underwhelming, at least presentation wise.

I think this too to be honest. Chigs' centrepiece was properly amateur compared to all the others, you could buy that in a kit for Christmas - what would Jurgen have put up in terms of cakes if he just knocked together a tree in twenty minutes? Giuseppe's tower could've had a bit more definition - the Leaning Tower isn't just a stone pillar, so he could've at least drawn the windows on to give it a bit of detail. They also said there was no flavour in the cakes themselves without the cherry, so the execution of the bake itself was wrong. Jurgen did well with the matcha/raspberry combination and also put up a highly technical showstopper. Chrystelle's just looked phenomenal, she absolutely bossed it.

Be honest, Jurgen is the least photogenic of the semi-finalists and therefore won't sell as many books.
