Kim-Joy played it too safe, IMO, and that allowed Rahul to dive in at the very end.

Thought the challenges this week were poor especially for a final.

None of them were particularly good in the final really.

Thought all of the showstoppers looked gooseberry fool. Guess the leak about Kim-Joy being the winner was grade A baloney.

Oh so that's who was in your spoiler box?

Rahul probably deserved it based on performance throughout the competition.

Nah, he should've gone two weeks ago. I didn't see the first few episodes but I felt like the judges were very much looking for things to like in his baking as opposed to finding fault. Paul especially seemed to take to him.

Prue practically jizzed her pants any time she approached Rahul's bakes.

Dragging this from the depths of last year to heap praise on Noel's Dinosaur Jr jumper. That's a wonderful thing.

It’s a bit odd.

He geography teacher contestant is pretty hot, I would deffo have paid more attention in geography if she was my teacher.

Yeah, I'd like to show her my thoughts on a meandering river

My brother and sister-in-law won the audience bakeoff this week on Extra Slice with their chocolate fudge cake.

What is the point of the technical round at all?

Close up shots of the contestants looking confused when they're told what they're supposed to be baking, and nothing else, apparently.

Yeah it’s great when someone comes fourth and wins star baker, but the person who won it goes out. Really shows the format works.

It's happened a few times this season now.

Tbf, Rosie's showstopper was terrible and her signature was amongst the weakest...

Yeah, but it was plainly obvious even before the episode started that Rosie was the least favourite remaining contestant of the judges and that she'd be eliminated regardless. Based purely on performance over the three challenges that week, David was the clear loser, but they don't apply their criteria consistently.

David was second to Rosie in the technical and had a stronger signature and showstopper, so I disagree that he was weaker than Rosie this week.

They want the strongest three bakers in the final and sometimes that means giving someone who had a poor week but has otherwise been very solid throughout a pass. David has been stronger than Rosie throughout so I don't have an issue with it. Happens most years.

I'd also argue that Paul would have preferred Rosie in the final over David.

The person that should have gone was Alice, her getting star baker was a complete WTF moment for me.

Just watched last night's final - I felt the right person won. Felt very sorry for Steph.
