Ferrari could mitigate some of their problems by something as simple as taking an extra lap or two to ensure their reading of the conditions is correct; I can recall at least two races last season where poor decision-making cost Leclerc a strong chance of victory.

In Monaco he led from the outset on hard tyres in poor weather. During a pit-stop Ferrari fitted his car with intermediates; only to realise they'd botched it, immediately calling him straight back in to switch to softs. They then proceeded to make the exact same mistake in Hungary.

Ferrar - “we are checking”

It’s ridiculous that they make the exact same mistake a handful of races apart. It’s funny how almost delusional they are as well, like Binotto when he was saying they could win the rest of the races after the summer break. Their last win? Silverstone

Also, it's basic strategy that when leading, you do not make the first move when there is any uncertainty about the optimal grain of tyre. Everyone is chasing you, not the other way around! Let them take the risk!

Like at Monza…..

I know Seb made mistakes when he was there but it’s not exactly surprising that Ferrari haven’t won anything since 2008 really when more often than not the team is messing up.

I think McClaren will sneak a win in the constructors this year.
Hamilton will be the Drivers champion.
Ferrari will be third in the constructors and Red Bull 4th.

The British GP will be massively rainy and they'll use those funky new wheel covers.

I'm more interested in Formula E this year with the Gen 3 cars.
I hope we can get decent highlights by channel 4.

Formula E just needs to start incorporating some actual tracks that aren’t pop up street ones, I appreciate and like the fact that city centre tracks are much better for fans attending them on a relative whim, but I think to appeal to a broader motorsport fan, having a handful of races at proper tracks wouldn’t be a bad thing at all, opt for somewhere like Brands Hatch for example.

Advertising and trying to avoid clashes with F1 would probably help a lot too of course.

They have to be on the stop start street tracks for energy regeneration under braking iirc

It’s probably more out of selfish want/need to see how they compare to another spec car in F3 or F2, I know they’ve started running the full Monaco course but then they’re not even running slicks in dry conditions so even that’s hard draw much comparison from (about 18 seconds down on the F1 pole, about 8 down on F2), I also assumed the regen had got a lot better too since the first season back in 2014 so they don’t need as many braking events as before? I’d happily take a couple of shorter races to avoid people running out of power at a well known track rather than a city centre track that not many people are going to know the layout of, I just think it’d help bridge the gap between the series.

The racing at Monaco is always really good in E and Mexico was the same as the F1 track (short loop).Whilst I don't rate the Gen 3 cars look (and the one at Goodwood broke down before every run), I think the improvement in performance for them means they could start going to faster tracks, but it does break the green Formula E ethos of getting people to tracks using public transport or for the lowest footprint possible.

So James Vowles has left Merc to be Williams team principle.

Thats a big loss for Mercedes and a big jump for Vowles too, hope he has some assurances he won’t be fired if Williams don’t fail to make big gains this year as I don’t see them being much better than last year sadly.

The photo Williams have used makes it look like he's politely waiting for you to stop talking and leave so he can finally fart away his stomach ache
