I think he'll be shocked by the poor strategy calls, Mercedes are very average in this department as well but Ferrari take it to another level!

I mean I really hope they get their act together, I really do, but will it happen? They could have an entire refresh of every department to appease Hamilton, but they'd take time to gel, guess Hamilton will have signed an obscene 2 year deal to go into the new regulations.

Reckon Hamilton could be beat over a season in qualifying, Leclerc has been rapid in qualifying since he first debuted in 2018, once he could actually put 3 great sectors together that is. Could be a lot closer in the races, Hamilton doesn't make anywhere near as many errors as Leclerc in race pace, you always feel like Leclerc is overdriving the car and the errors just creep in. It should make for a cracking pairing though.

That's sad. Hopefully the Merc isn't dog gooseberry fool this year but I fear that's the only reason he's going.

The simplest explanation is that he wants to be out of F1 once the new regulations kick in in 2026 and also wants to be able to have driven for Ferrari in his career.

He'll be 41 at the beginning of that season and might well feel that he had spent three to four years longer in the sport than he intended to, thanks to the 2021 finale.

Wow, bombshell. He won't win another title though. Sounds like this is another write off year for Merc and Hamilton is past the usual age barrier already. In the last 30-40 years, only Alonso seems to have bucked the trend and remained competitive into his 40s.

Cant criticise Hamilton for it though. Every great driver wants to drive for Ferrari. Once Red Bull end their cycle, I bet Max will go there or retire.
