Renault have always been in/out over the last decade and a half anyway, so they'll be back in the future at some point, an 11th team would have been better, but better to have a team that actually wants to try and compete rather than Renault's yearly reset of the self imposed 100 race plan to start fighting for the WDC/WCC again.

Biggest issue is getting anyone else to buy Renault Engines to help develop them to match Mercedes and Ferrari just look at honda going from Mclaren to The RB teams and how they leapt to wins

Renault/Alpine are never EVER going to be title contenders. Not happening.

facts and with the stagnant field and other teams all using the same engines no chance of variety. F1 right now has never been this limited with engine suppliers to teams which is not good in the long run for the sport. F1 is strawberry floated if Mercedes quit and Renault leave to focus on endurance racing

Alonso signing up at Aston Martin, meant to be a contract till 2026 at the earliest, surely that'll be his last year in F1 unless they're completely dominant?

https://www.crash.net/f1/news/1046672/1 ... debut-dies
Ted Toleman - the 1980s F1 team boss who handed Ayrton Senna his grand prix debut - has died at the age of 86 after a long illness.
After competing in junior categories including F2, the Toleman-run operation made the step up to F1 in the early 1980s, but initially struggled and did not qualify for their first nine races.
Toleman launched the careers of drivers including Senna, Stefan Johansson and Derek Warwick, while legendary F1 designer Rory Byrne and engineer Pat Symonds also started out at the team.

Interesting that Alonso signed with Aston.

What I would do is... Ditch Stroll out of the contract and sign Bearman. He can learn a lot from Alonso and he will be a better driver.

F1 seeking 10-team limit in new Concorde Agreement

https://www.motorsportweek.com/2024/04/ ... nt-report/

With F1’s value growing and the value of its teams along with it, there’s a call to shut up shop and stop the grid growing in the next Concorde Agreement, where commercial terms will be signed for a five-year period from 2026 through 2030. Reporter Joe Saward understands that both F1 and the teams within it wish to cap the number of competitors to 10, meaning the only way a new entrant could participate is if they bought an existing entry.

will be to blame for the death of F1 if it goes thru F1 needs bigger grids and more privateer teams look what happened to the BTCC when all the manufacturers left and killed Super Touring

Caught up on the sprint qualifying, it’s amazing how much of a fun leveller the rain is :datass: How the heck did Lando get his lap time (rightly) deleted, only for them to go “hahahahahah just kidding” and then put him back on pole? Going off the track there should invalidate his next lap too.
