I was reading the Street Fighter EX plus Alpha in issue 25 and it reads just like the reviews of Street Fighter IV.

I've just remembered something I'll add to the trivia.

- Despite the 8/10 score for Ridge Racer Revolution, they really slate it in the review, stating that it's basically exactly the same as Ridge Racer and that they are very disappointed with the lack of options. It certainly doesn't read as an 8/10 review.

- Ever wondered why some games came in double-disc cases even though they were only one disc? "At the time, there was a shortage of the officially-branded Playstation cases and so bog-standard double CD cases were used instead."

I remember being somewhat puzzled by Destuction Derby 2's case - now I understand. Sometimes it was the other way round - Gran Turismo 2 came in a standard Playstation case despite being on two discs.

Absolutely! The covers were something one could look forward to--something completely fresh--every month, and unique to the magazine.

I haven't quit this. I got through #7 ages ago. I'm just lazy. Will be up this weekend.

Nick - that pic does stretch to the back cover, but I don't have the scanner to get it all in. Try Googling for "tekken wallpaper" or something.

They did that with #13 as well, with the Tomb Raider cover. One of the their best ever, actually.

Strange thing is, is I remember that issue (#6), that was one of the reasons why I ended up with Tekken 2.

Crash Bandicoot rears his head for the first time. "...one of the new breed of 3D platform games, Crash Bandicoot is set to go up against Nights on Sega Saturn and Super Mario 64 on Nintendo 64. And the good news is that, by all accounts, Crash Bandicoot may be the best of the bunch."

Somewhat hyperbolic statement. Okay, extremely hyperbolic.

This was also Steve Jarratt's last issue. Unbeknownst to him at the time, Rob Pegley was to make a monumental balls up in issue 8. On the cover, no less...

He 'warped' the Official PlayStation Magazine logo on the cover. Sony went ape gooseberry fool. Never been done since.

I think it was in an interview with MCV, or the now defunct Computer Trade Weekly, that he mentioned it. Was also alluded to briefly in Issue 100.

Looked great though. Very cinematic...which was kinda the point.

BTW, Issue 1 is up on Ebay. Bid is currently at 75p!
