Man, if only I owned every Official (UK) PlayStation Magazine demo disc there is (the 108 normal demo discs and the special demo discs (I don't know how many specials there are) including the Football Special Demo disc (even though I don't like football that much)), I could have done something similar, or post YouTube videos of the demo discs.

Can't think of a decent signature, so here's a short one:

I'd love to know what the thinking behind the issue 27 cover was. It was crudely sliced down the middle, so it opened up to reveal a Duke Nuken advert. And they couldn't just give this 2 pages in the magazine because?

I used to have issue 27, with Demo disc 10 Volume 2 (or Demo disc 27) and I was thinking the same thing as you.

BTW, if you're interested (directed towards Dangerblade and some other guys interested), click this link: http://www.youtube.com/view_play_list?p=43666DA15482A0CC; it's a playlist of videos of European PlayStation demo discs (the vast majority of these are taken from the former monthly demo discs provided with The Official UK PlayStation Magazine, although there are some interfaces for Station Magazine's demo discs, Essential PlayStation's demo discs, Sony's Demo 1 & Registered Users demo discs).

The thinking behind that sort of cover is that it stands a chance of being opened on the shelf, greatly increasing the chance of it being seen compared to being inside the mag

Does the V-CD option on the first Official (UK) PlayStation Magazine give you the option to insert a Video CD in the PlayStation? If so, I thought the only PlayStation that could play Video CDs was SCPH-5903.

Dunno about V-CD.

You're very enthusiastic about these demos aren't you?

Finally got back a load of issues, for 20p each (with the discs too). Bargain or what.

I just need to get 21-27 back now, then I have 1-51 (before the big change in late 1999) and I'm all set.

Hi,

I need some help - I need any information regarding a special issue of UK PlayStation Magazine which featured Final Fantasy VIII. IIRC it contained a FFVIII (p)review (can't remember anymore what exactly it was), a FFVII walkthrough, an interview with Nomura I think - about FFVIII, and more stuff I cannot remember now. It came with a demo disc as well. On the cover there was Squall (the main character) holding a gunblade.

I would greatly appreciate any help to find out whats the number # or the exact title of the issue or the month of release of this issue, I wanna try to find it and buy it as it's very important to me.

That was a special one-off issue. I think it was called The Official UK Final Fantasy VIII Magazine or something. I was released in Summer 1998. It was on eBay awhile back.

I have a shed load of these mags buried away in a box somewhere under my stairs...along with official DC magazine. Really should dig them out. Any issues people would want and i'll see if I have them?

Been having a scan around eBay for some late1998/early1999 issues but haven't had any luck apart from finding stupidly big bundles :(

Sorry to bother you, but you haven't posted anything since August. What's the reason?

Anyway, shouldn't you change your username back to Dangerblade now?

I still have it somewhere, 'twas awesome. The FFVIII demo is what got me into Final Fantasy, then a few weeks later I went and got FFVII :D
