I guess this means the original won't be getting the BC treatment.

I bought it in some random sale a while ago (having enjoyed Infinite) and have never played it. I guess since my 360 is still plugged in I could just switch my TV to HDMI2, but it feels like such a chore. :fp:

Infinite was okay, what put you off? All the wanky hype at the time?

Setting was nice but the FPS gameplay just felt really average and like it hadn't really changed from the first game. Wasn't a fan of how it was more linear than the previous games too, and there was a lot of weird little design decisions that just annoyed me. The story wasn't anywhere near as clever as it thought it was either.

I enjoyed Infinite but never got round to playing the DLC even though owning the season pass on Steam. I'll most likely still get it at some point on console depending on how cheap it is.

That's a very interesting video. I really enjoyed infinite (possibly more than the original) but that video points out quite a few things I'd never considered before. I don't think it's a bad game at all, in fact I felt it was compelling to play but I agree that it's not as clever as it wants to be.

I remember thinking at the time I played it, the original setting and story, about a society divided along racial lines, slavery, religious fanaticism, etc. was way more interesting than the time hopping garbage it became by the end. Loads of themes it would be good to see properly explored, just left discarded by the wayside in favour of some "deep" plot instead.

I got the feeling that they were absolutely terrified to go any further with the racism and slavery stuff.

Yeah, probably. It kind of makes you wonder why it ended up in the game at all, given that it was all handled in such a half-arse manner.

Apparently they cut content due to a religious programmer threatening to quit

I quite fancy picking this up but will probably wait until it goes sub £20, my betting is by Christmas.

Must've been a pretty important/well liked programmer for them to not just get rid of the guy. :shifty:

Just so people know, if you have a non-Steam version of Bioshock and want the remaster you can email 2K and get your retail copy turned into a Steam key.

Eurogamer wrote a nice wee retrospective on Bioshock: Infinite here -
Whatever happened during those five years at Irrational, at some point down the line the heart was cut out of Infinite, resulting in a shooter that ponders an awful lots of subjects, but doesn't really care about any of them.

So much cut, Hell even the concept of The Boys of Silence don't actually work. Originally they were blind and you had to be super quiet to get past them. That changed and it was just a vision cone/spotlight that you had to avoid. Which doesn't even make sense!

That Critique video is ridiculous, im only 5mins in and the bullshit is off the scale, complaining that the N word isn't used, no lynching or RAPING of black women, jesus christ, it's a game, the press/media would be all over it. Also complaining about simple button prompts in the ball throwing section, what an absolute plank. The fact some of you think these are valid complaints is worrying. :fp:

At the time I absolutely loved BioShock Infinite for it's story. In retrospect I just fell for the waifu trap.

It was still a pretty cool game though. Should have spent less time mucking around with Infinite reality stuff and more time fleshing out Colombia.

Turns out I own 1 and Infinite on Steam. Is Infinite not getting a PC remaster? I suppose it still looks good.

I was going to say.

It's a science fiction game about a floating city, a giant mechanic bird and magic powers.

You don't watch the Nazi scenes in X-men and complain they're not being racist enough

The game's central plot is time travel, not racism.
