If we ever developed the ability to beam a skill into your brain in the way they do in the Matrix and we could only choose one (but it's at a really high level so equivalent to an F1 engineer or published writer) what would you choose?

I think I'd go with baker as I love cake and I think being able to make awesome cakes for everyone would be pretty satisfying. Sure, I doubt I'd become rich and it may indeed be quite hard work but at least it would have sky high job satisfaction and I get to try some cakes I've never had before as I try out my new skill.

To be fair it would be a tough choice as second on my list would be screen writer just so I could send in amazing scripts for Star Trek and then make enough money to buy Wizards of the Coast and finally make a D&D film that isn't a strawberry floating travesty (it doesn't have to be good just not so bad I want to kill everyone involved would be nice) as then I could die happy.

So, what would you choose?

I would like to be able to sing perfectly. Like, whatever I'm imagining in my head - whether it's a soprano singing opera or, like, Barry White - that's what comes out.

There's no real reason I just think it would be a cool talent to have.

Language. To be able to understand, speak, read and write every language.

Probably languages, tbh. Far too lazy to learn, even without taking the decision of which one to follow into account.

But if I could just lie down for a minute and wake up being fluent in Japanese the day before I go on holiday, then a few months later do the same for Swedish, we'd be golden.

Definitely languages. I've tried teaching myself French, but outside of pleasentries I find it difficult to retain much of what I've attempted to learn.

I would choose to know what women want, like in the Mel Gibson film The Passion of the Christ.

All you want is to hang around with Danny Glover?

Yep, definitely this.

Though being able to play the piano (or a guitar) at a professional standard would be a close second.

Pete you know baking isn't even difficult? There's a bit of a skill gap between baking a cake and being an F1 engineer. You just need to find a recipe and do it. Obviously if you want to get fancy and go crazy with decorations it's a bit harder. But just baking a cake to eat is incredibly easy.

I'm on about baking at a level akin to the guys on Bake-Off the professionals.

I am thinking that being able to speak any language would be pretty darn amazing though and would certainly make travel much more relaxing and fun.

Probably stock marketing or something.
If you could do that blindingly well you make a strawberry floating fortune at which point you can retire and learn to do whatever hell you want whilst leaving the awesome bot setup I made running to make more money while I learn to do stuff.
