Once I was playing Halo 3 with Captian Kil and his brother, and only his brother had a headset. Anyway, I started slaying Kil repeatedly and I could hear his screams of anger through his brother headset. True story.

My very first time playing Halo 3? Yet I still killed you a couple of times. 8-)

Remember when we would play 1v1 on CS? And you restricted certain weapons for me to make it fairer? Like flash nades for one.

17 days+ on COD 4 Multiplayer :fp:

Half way through 9th prestige.

It's all I play. I'm only good at it because of how much I play it, I don't have a natural talent for online gaming. I was thinking about downloading BF 1943, but going by that vid if it takes a couple of seconds firing and hitting someone for them to die, I'm not interested. Does it have a Hardcore mode like COD?

I am really random at shooters. Sometimes I do really well, others times I just suck. I am not consistent in FPS games to actually be amazingly good. :fp:

I'm fairly average at FPS really. With hours into game, I'll be good at it.

TF2 however is a game I really, really suck at. Maybe because my skills lies on Deathmatch style, and TF2 is all about capturing/defend and I'm only good as Heavy (ish) if I have support, or be Medic and help out.

I pretty much stick to COD4, and tend to have one good game per about 2 or 3 bad ones. (a good game being having more kills than deaths), so pretty bad, compared to some of the real pro's.

I only ever play about 4 matches at a time, as get bored easily. so yeah, I probably do suck s much as you do. Possibly more

I'm certainly at the top end of online skill in FPS games, Halo 3 (level 44, one of the highest games won to games played ratio) and COD4 (it's a rare game if I'm not top of the leaderboard) are the two I'm best at on the 360. It's generally the genre I excel at, alongside less serious racers like Burnout 3, which at one point according to EA leaderboards, I was ranked in the top 100 in the world.

It also certainly helps in team games that RF! has some very talented players too, special mentions to Yonez (An Dog On An Skateboard) - one of the best Halo 3 players around and P0W3R5 who has maintained a stupidly high K:D ratio in COD4.

I'm pretty good at the tactical aspect too, I came up with some great tactics on Halo 2 (the old days)!

I really don't want to come across as a dick, so please don't hate me.

But. I've played a couple of games with/against Yonez and while he's good at the game, he's really not that great. If he went up against some proper competition he wouldn't stand a chance. He could beat 95% of Halo players no problem, but as far as being at that top end he's simply not that standard. I guess the best way I can explain his skill level is that if he played the MLG playlist he would struggle to hold his own against the 40+.

I would also consider a level 44 to be a fairly easy level to achieve on Halo 3, especially if it's a second account? But I'm also aware that levels don't really mean all that much in a lot of cases, so I'm not claiming you're not very good. I generally find anything below a 45 I can play against with relative ease, it's the high 40's/50's that are the toughies, generally speaking. x

I managed to drag myself to a Level 40 on Halo 3.

It's misleading because I'm no where near as good as you'd expect someone at that level to be.

I once played on the same team as an 8 year old playing Halo 3, he was the best player I've ever seen on there.

Bad words against Yonez. I will hear none of this! :x

I do consider top end to be top 5/10% of gamers (although I didn't say it in my above post), so that would include Yonez. The elite players (sub 1%) are in a class of their own, but they are so rare that 'top end' is too broad a term to just limit to truly elite players.

Ah, my Team Slayer level 44 rank, I stopped playing around then due to realising COD4 was a better game online, but level 44 is certainly not an easy level to achieve, the bell graphs even show that players with levels from 35 onwards get significantly lower with most players in the mid-level rankings, or at least it still looked like a bell graph when I played regularly, which would have been 2007 Sep-Dec time. Although I suppose anyone who reaches level 50 legit must find anyone more than 5 levels beneath them to be significantly worse than they are. Incidentally, what is the level 50 in? I found in Team Slayer that games in the 40's and upwards involve loads of BS and cheap tactics that made what was a fun process getting near the top become deeply unenjoyable the closer you got to it (as the more cheaters you ran into).

I'm really good at online FPS. I suck at pretty much any other game online though. Racing average, fighting I'm awful. But FPS I usually come in the top 3. I got bored of COD4 because I came top pretty much every game, same with Halo 3. I'm not amazing by any means but it's certainly my preferred genre. It was all the practice from playing Battlefield 1942 for about 7 years straight.

Heh, he's a decent player don't get me wrong, I wouldn't complain if he was on my team! Seems like a decent guy, too. My 50 is in Team Slayer, I grinded 45 - 50 going in alone, which wasn't easy at the best of times. To get from 48 - 49 I played 15 games, 14 of which I won, I think it was the 7th or 8th game I lost, and it was only after that win on the 15th game that it put me up to 49, it was ridiculous, but that's rank locking for you. MLG I'm only a 38 though, I find that pretty tough. I can hold my own generally, but I can't carry a team so I rely on getting matched with good team mates. I only play with one other person my level though, so I do rely on random team mates, it would be awesome to have a whole team you could rely on every game. I've played this game to death though, like 5000+ games. :fp: x

I like to think I'm pretty good at FPS. More often than not I'm near the top of the leaderboard and I used to be great at CS Source back in the day.

I remember the big games we had of Halo 3 when the beta was out. I always won. 8-) The only person to give me trouble was Pred, but I saw to him.

I think I'm pretty good, but I remember playing with you guys once Cube, and it made me look gooseberry fool in comparison.

Players like FBwalshy, Snipedown makes me never want to touch Halo game ever again. They are beyond good.
