I'm attempting to download the free version of disney infinity for wii u but can't seem to find it on the e shop. Anyone else able to find it on these. All the news stories about it say that it is available now. I already have the original on wii and its pretty gooseberry fool compared to the wii u version so thought I would upgrade as its free.

I read about that on GAF but it seemed to be available only in America.

Yeah just read that on the official infinity site. Lots of uk games sites have reported it without realising that it's only North America.

It does seem to be an odd situation - Ubi has delayed the release until the hype has died down; the price will be high compared to the now-reduced other versions; it probably won't feature any online functionality; and technically I anticipate a few 'blemishes'.

But it'll still be Day One for me. I'm intrigued to see if Ubi has tailored the game for the U or added anything to surprise us. With no evidence whatsoever... I still believe :datass:.

I don't know if it's been mentioned but there's a Ubi sale on the eShop. Pretty much every Ubi game is like half price or less.

Zombi U and AC3 are £7.99 and SC: Blacklist is a tenner.

There are indeed some cracking deals, Harry. Backing up those that you've highlighted, other stars include Creed IV Black Flag for £9.99 and Rayman Legends for £11.99. Unlike most of the large publishers, Ubi has regularly held eShop sales. EA still has NFS Most Wanted U (its only eShop game?) priced at £45. Warner is still asking £50 for Lego City and £45 for Lego Marvel - although they did hold an excellent Batman sale a few months back. Strangely, none of Activision's tites are available in the eShop. Surely they could make money by selling CoD Black Ops II and CoD Ghosts for a tenner each?I don't know why other publishers haven't followed Ubi's lead on this.

Does anyone know if Lego City loads quicker if it's a download title? The slow load times put me off trying it.

I can't trace evidence of any comparisons, Dragon. I have a couple of games in digital and disc formats so I may try and time them.

If you like Lego games, you shouldn't let the loading times put you off. They're relatively bad but not game-breaking.

Because they want money, and don't want to put in any additional effort to get it.

Though, there's a case to be made that the returns for Wii-U look so pitiful in any case that there's no-one in their marketing department paying attention to it.

You're wasted here, jawa, should be working for one of those publishers making Wii U digital viable.

Exactly, Turnip. I guess that Nintendo takes a cut of sales made through the eShop, but I'd have thought that it'd be easy money for Activision to sell COD, or Warner to sell Lego City, for say £15 each online. Theses titles aren't selling in big numbers on disc, the coding work has been completed - it seems like a good way to get money coming in. If EA dropped the price of NFS Most Wanted U to £12 in a sale, they'd probaby get more money than whatever they're now getting for disc sales.

I definitely noticed an improvement with my copy of TW101 so I'm hoping that Lego City is the same.

I've always been keen to play it so I'll be picking it up at some point if I see it for cheap. I'm just hoping that, if it does go on sale on the eShop for a good price, the load times are a bit better.

That's got to be little to nothing given that it seemed to have a limited print run as it didn't really drop in price due to low stock levels.

Monster Hunter has really clicked with me this evening. I was struggling to kill the Royal Ludroth, but had a chat with a friend that's been playing it since Tri originally came out on the Wii, and he set me straight on a few things, like having multiple weapons and armour sets for different monsters. I'd been trying to kill this thing with a weapon it was highly resistant to. He helped me kill a qurupeco to get a feather so I could craft a new weapon (I'd already killed it, but this feather was supposedly a fairly rare drop, and it took me damn near the full 50 minutes to take it down), and now I feel like I'm getting somewhere.

NintendoLife has dug up the U version of Steamworld Dig and it has piled on the praise.

NintendoLife, focusing upon the Gamepad benefits, wrote:...the gorgeous HD visuals look crisp on the GamePad, and they absolutely pop if you've got a nice flatscreen TV to play on. While many developers seem to struggle with how to adapt their controls to Wii U without feeling gimmicky, Image & Form completely understands the console – on default settings the gameplay is displayed on the television screen (uncluttered by UI elements) while your map and menus are down on the GamePad. You can easily switch to off-TV play with a touch of the Select button...

...now this sounds neat. The game will emerge from the dark into the eShop on Thursday and cost seven quid; or a fiver if you own the 3DS version.

In other download news, the Mercedes range of cars for Mario Kart 8 will launch on Wednesday, Mario Golf Advance Tour arrives on the Virtual Console (GBA) and Zen Pinball 2 will have three new tables available. Check out GoNintendo for the full details.

Squinty, I've not played 101 yet and I'm missing the significance of the vid - even after reading the YouTube comments :fp: . What is it that I'm not seeing? ( ).

That sounds great, Grin. I've not got into MH but, reading commentary here in GRcade, I believe it takes time and effort to buid up an understanding of the game - and, as you've described, it helps to have an 'expert warrior' to guide you through. The game seems to be a bit marmite... some folk gripe about the clunkiness and difficulty whilst others rave about the multiplayer interaction.

Wow, you're thinking of doubling-up on the U, Anung? I'm not knowledgeable on what U games are exclusive to Japan; although I have heard that Fatal Frame has yet to be signed up for a Euro release. Would there be enough Japanese-only games to make the purchase worthwhile?
I can understand the idea from a collectable viewpoint, though; I haven't bought a Japanese console since the N64 but those boxes made it a great decision  .

Wasn't a fan of the cardboard sleeve. The size was preferable, though.

I've got the disc version and don't really find the loading times an issue at all. A bit of time at the start of the game and at the beginning of the missions, but there's so much to do in between that you can almost look at them like a period of downtime :)

It's a great game, and, as Spindash says, I wouldn't let the loading times put you off.

Yeah, I know exactly what you mean. I enjoyed the start of it, but I hadn't got that far in, mid-way through the 3 star quests and it was starting to feel a lot like a chore. I'd be spending hours and hours trying to kill a specific creature without getting anywhere, and was starting to think about just putting it back on the shelf. I'll probably hit another bumps just like that, but I think it's the sort of game where you're kind of supposed to go looking stuff up online.

It's Rules of Nature from Metal Gear Rising played over a badass scene from W101. It fits so good
