As for Onrush, I'm with Trelliz. Onrush sounds a bit meh. Sure racing amongst the pack is fun, but battling your way through and racing ahead to grab that all important lead on your opponents/nearest rival is what racing is about. I don't want to be put back in the pack each time I fall behind or race ahead. Onrush sounds like "Rubber Banding - The Game".
As already said in the Racing thread, why can't they just give us a racing game without the need of all these gimmicks? No one gave a toss about the clubs in Drive Club, we just wanted to race. I foresee Onrush being a flop.
I think this might be better suited for the general thread, but I can see why they're trying to think outside the box; the racing genre has shrunk a lot and there hasn't been any major innovation for a long time; there will never be a pubg of racing that turns the genre on its head.
Also I think racing games are much more difficult for non-fans to get into, even the more arcadey stuff so I can see what they're going for, however i think that the kind of trick score gameplay Onrush is going for died along with Tony Hawk, car nerds will give it a miss because it strays too far from the formula and the casual audience will stick to pubg. I want to support codemasters trying new things but not at full price and not necessarily this.
