Surely a new game gets its own thread?

1080p/60 docked & 720p/60 handheld. Has Xbox Live Support and Achievements. Dev - "We've been optimizing our engine for a good, long time. Our Tech folks have also been to the Unity offices in the past a bunch. And our Tech folks are supremely talented. Trust me, it feels awesome to play Ori on Switch, no stuttering, no hitches, everything's just butter and the art looks super sharp on the handheld - and in docked mode, obviously :)"

However, going forward, Greenberg was keen to clarify this doesn’t set a precedent for the sequel: “Our plans with Ori and the Will of the Wisps is to launch it exclusively on Xbox One and on the PC.”

Plenty of games are "launched exclusively" and get ported later to other platforms. Like the first Ori.

I know but there's been a few on the forum expecting Ori 2 launching on Xbox & Switch on the same date, just clarifying that.

I definitely wasn’t one of them. While it’s nice that MS have launched this on Nintendo hardware at all, they’re still trying to sell their own machines and I respect that. I look forward to playing Ori 2 a few years down the line.

Apologies for my blunt comment earlier. It wasn't meant as criticism of you (though reading it back, it did seem that way), I just wanted to float the idea that Ori 2 might not remain Xbox and PC only.

No problem. My reply wasn't 100% lined up with what I was replying to anyway. Agree that there's a decent chance Ori 2 will come to Switch via a straight port or even xCloud eventually.

I wouldn’t expect Ori 2 at launch, but if the Switch port of Ori 1 does well I’d guess there’s a reasonable chance we might see Ori 2 on the Switch at some point.

Hi

Does anyone have any idea how much Ori and Blind Forest will cost on Switch? I've looked on eshop (through internet browser as opposed to through the switch) and tried to find it on internet but nothing obvious. I already own it on the X Box - but like the sound of playing it on a handheld. I was hoping it would priced about the same as current price on X Box One (under £20) I wouldn't fancy paying the price of main new release (above £50) as I already own it. Anyone have any clue?

I’m also interested in the price, seen $20 mentioned on some websites but nothing definite and it’s not on the eshop yet to pre load.

Hope it's at £18, with the standard 10% discount preorder incentive. That'd be around my biting point in a pricey month.
