Nice, never played it and was planning on getting the Switch version so I'll give the demo a try first!

Just started this on Xbox One. Seems really nice so far (only about an hour in), but seems pretty challenging. Looking forward to playing some more tomorrow.

Looks like this is £14.99 on Switch, think this might be a day one purchase for me

Sounds like its the start of the game as your save, unlocked achievements, time played etc transfers over to the full game.

This is extremely pretty. Puzzle platformers aren't really my thing but holy moly this demo is gorgeous.

So the game features Xbox Live on Switch. What does this mean?

This means, if you choose to enable it, you can unlock Xbox Live achievements for the game on your Nintendo Switch. This achievement list is independent of previous release from 2016 so your progress will not carry over if you’ve played the game before on XB1 or PC.

Can I carry my progress over from the Xbox or PC version to the Switch release?

No.

Will the sequel, Ori and the Will of the Wisps, come to Nintendo Switch?

Nothing has been announced aside from Microsoft reiterating that Ori and the Will of the Wisps is still going to launch exclusively on Xbox One and PC. Note: Ori and the Blind Forest is a complete story and does not rely on any narrative hooks for the sequel.

What time will the preload unlock?

Going off previous, third party, releases it will likely unlock sometime around 5pm BST.

“Ori is built by Moon Studios, which is an independent, external studio. They came to us with a desire to bring the original Ori to the Switch. We thought that made sense, and we’re happy to work with them to enable them to bring that to Switch.”

How does the game perform on the platform? Are there any content differences?

The game runs at a full 720p@60fps while in handheld mode as well as 1080p@60fps while docked. Also, thanks to optimizations done to engine for Will of the Wisps, Ori’s sprites are now rendered at 60fps instead of 30.

There are no content differences between this release and the “Definitive Edition” released on Xbox One and PC in 2016.

Are there plans for a physical release on Switch?

Nothing has been announced at the time of writing; it’s apparently up to Microsoft.

Bought and downloaded before work, with the points on my account only cost me £1.80 so happy days.

Put about 4 hours in so far. Just got the double jump.

The music and visuals are exquisite. Movement feels excellent and it is a real challenge - to the point where I convinced myself I was sequence breaking, because early game platforming is rarely quite so challenging!

The story is very honest with its on-the-nose emotion manipulation, but that is easily forgiven.

Keen on getting this but I'm wondering what the chances of it going physical are. Was it physical on xbox?

Tempted by this, £15 seems a good price.

Slightly off subject but is there an advantage for a non-collector of getting a physical copy of a Switch game over getting it on the eshop?

My Switch has turned into a bit of an indie machine so I will be using the eshop quite a lot. But even for the games available on cartridge I wouldn't be opposed to getting a game on eshop - no cartridge swapping and you get eshop points.

You can claim gold points from cartridges too, but you get less than the digital equivalent. Physical advantages other than collection purposes are only in resell value and sometimes price. Personally I also like cartridge swapping!

I'm digital all the way and it is largely down to knowing my lazy ass cannot be bothered with cart swapping these days. There have been plenty of times when I've not played games that I would really like to simply because I can't be bothered locating and swapping the carts!

Definitely going to pick this one up as I love me some Metroidvania action and by all accounts this is one of the best.
