This particular one doesn't even need soldering experience, you can apparently just rip it right out of the board at the cost of the systems ability to remember the date.

It's just a particularly vulnerable one that's really unfortunately situated, which makes it better to remove than risk the damage from cap leakage.

Anyone recommend anything else? I have halo 1 and 2, doom 3, pgr 2 and Fahrenheit.

Jet Set Radio Future
Amped 2
Fable if you like RPG/advernture-type games

I always used to like Star Wars ObiWan. I have it ont he shelf to play again at some point. I loved that you had free control of the lightsaber with the thumbstick unlike other games where it was just "attack"

That's interesting, so it's probably a "pop in" pin type design (forgot the name). My xbox can't remember the date so I guess my mate already did this when he total converted mine (paint job, lights, mod multi region and switchable firmware flash mod chip, replaced disk drive and hard disk, roms and xmbc etc). It's a cool machine, but I hardly use it, sadly I just don't have room.

The machine sounds ace, Gecko. It'd be cool if you were able to post a pic :-).

 . That's a shame, man!

Lazy Fair, this seems to be a good time to point you towards the legendary GRecommends Xbox Games thread as that provides a tanatalising list of great games to consider.

Oh, and Burnout 2 is better than Burnout 3.

Preferred the GC version, but yes it is.

Agreed, Burnout 3 was arse, mainly due to the hideous soundtrack.

I preferred 2 because I pretty much exclusively played Crash Mode - which was terrific fun and amazingly addictive. I found that Crash Mode in 3 just didn't offer the same level of fun or addiction.

Even so, they are both excellent games and I'd love to see a new Burnout; although perhaps Need For Speed has now taken on much of the feel of the series.

Sounds like I need to finally pick up burnout 2 for gamecube at some point. I got into the series with the original on gc. The tournaments are still unbelievably slick.

What's all this utter bollocks about Burnout 2 being better than Takedown?

Nah m8

That's mad. I got Outrun 2 today. Got it for 3 quid on eBay. It's so good!

Any idea how I unlock the Enzo?

Anyone get any experience of soft nodding the old Xbox? I quite fancy trying some emulators (for games I already legally own).

I've just sold a load of Xbox games on eBay, but I have tons more still to shift. Let us know if you fancy any of this lot and I'll do you a price.

Woah! That is a pretty funky machine, Gecko... it definitely stands out!

Lazy, OutRun 2 for three quid is a terrific deal. It still stands tall as an ace racer.

I know, it's hideous. I don't even like yellow. But it's a lot of fun all the same.

I actually preferred the Xbox over 360.
