Started this and it seems quite good.
I'm obviously a Technomancer as I always play as support but again as per normal I can't snipe at all.

Is there any chance of a forum clan (does it have clans?) as this is cross-platform?

Ha, I saw the description while I was selecting my class and thought, “There’s Peter”.

Don’t know about clans, but I could be up for that.

I just hope in the endgame they have enemies who think standing statue still for ages is a good strategy if sniping is a main power of my class.

Moving and dodging is for chumps, nobody expects you to just stand still while being shot to gooseberry fool.

I usually hate sniping but chose Technomancer due to his healing with damage and having turrets. Using Assault rifle for close/medium kills. Up to level 10, having a lot of fun.

Sniping is for the unskilled who don't understand how hard it is to run at bad guys and punch them in the face.

I wonder how long it'll be before this game runs into the normal problem of not being able to make enough content?

Played a little of this as the Pyro dude. Seems fun.

Anyone else experiencing tearing in the movies? Loaded this up earlier on my XSX and several times in the first 20 mins I was playing (mainly watching tbf) it was noticeable a few times. Even my 11yr old commented on it

Yeah, the screen tearing was really bad during the cutscenes.

Yeah it’s alright, this. Visually it seems to veer from the ‘really quite nice’ to ‘muddy old bollocks’ quite quick. Not far into it, level 10, trudging towards what I’m guessing is the 2nd hub for missions, vendors and such.
Playing as a pyro on your own is a little bit of a challenge, or maybe playing in solo in general. Turning the ‘auto level up the world tier’ option off isn’t a terrible idea, until you start getting gear with perks anyway.

This still confuses me a bit. A lot of places have been selling it as a Destiny-esque live service game, but then People Can Fly have been saying nope, it's an action shooter that's one and done, largely. Yet there's a looter-shooter core to it.

It's intriguing to say the least, though I never did finish the demo.

Think of it like Diablo more than Destiny as the developers have said that was their main inspiration.
The game has 15 world tiers of difficulty and the idea is that the better gear and as you get better at the game you can tackle higher tiers.

The AI is really good and gets better as the tiers go up so like Diablo you can replay stuff over again.

I think it could be decent as a drop in and kill stuff game to just get that little bit better each time but time will tell I suppose if it has anything like the staying power of Diablo.

Is this a good single player game? Compared to, say, the Gears of War titles?

Yes and no. Would it be way, way better in co-op? Yes. Is it still a fairly decent game on your own? Yeah.
I tried joining a ‘random team’ last night but the servers/matchmaking wasn’t having it.
Try to play on the hardest world tier you can but don’t feel ashamed to knock it down if it’s too hard. I toggle it fairly often.

Been playing this a bit - Anyone else getting issues when selecting HDR output? More often than not, it removed all of the HUD for me and wont come back unless I turn it off.

I’m getting issues with the bloody thing crashing every time I play it. I mean, yeah it’s with Game Pass, happy day, but can nobody QA any more? 5 years in the making, this.

I have a hard time signing in. Sometimes it can take 3 or 4 attempts and finally bothers. I'm enjoying the game but I'd be pretty furious if I'd paid £50 or £60 for this.
I got my first purple item yesterday though .
