No, it doesn't. The vast majority of things I've classified as overrated, which means I can see the merit in them and why people might like them.

What boundaries that she has pushed? It's pop music. And with reference to "hit after hit", yes she makes music which a lot of people like. The musical equivalent of Call of Duty.

Takeaways. Often taking a product that was no more than adequate but of an acceptable standard for that moment (i.e. being out) but degrading it further so by the time it reaches your home, you've just wasted 15, 20, 30 quid.

KFC, McDonald's, Burger King...wall-to-wall complaints on Deliveroo, Just Eat etc. and still people order from them. 'My ice cream has melted'...'my chips are cold'...'my burger is lukewarm'...NO gooseberry fool.

So no, I don't necessarily like or dislike everything in my overrated list, but I do understand why some people might rate them highly and I wouldn't accuse them of being "wrong" to do so. I just don't have that same level of appreciation.

In terms of Halo, I think it was a backwards step for the FPS genre. It's a game of great quality but I prefer the shorter, objective based levels seen in something like Goldeneye. I also question the rechargeable shield, it's cheap; I think having a finite number dotted around which are single-use only is a better approach.

There's nothing wrong with not liking something. But when you say something is overrated you are saying that other people have got it wrong.

How does one go about explaining why something could be or is overrated without any semblance of partisanship whatsoever?

Essentially, I am explaining that whilst I acknowledge Halo to be a quality game, there are certain elements that I look less favourably on, and for those reasons I don't hold the game in quite the same esteem as some other people. That's completely different to saying that I think the game is rubbish (hence why it didn't make it onto that list).

Which is fine. But "overrated" would mean you think other people have gotten their rating wrong.

Song-writing and producing pop music, performing, dancing. It's a completly different genre to DG with different talents required.

You're being quite dismissive of pop music there in my opinion. I'm not particularly a big fan of her or the genre but it's easy to understand and appreciate how hugely influential she has been and how she has constantly taken it in new directions.

To be fair, it must take a lot of skill to rip off an old lady's dance routine.
