That doesn't answer the question though and I'm genuinely interested. You're making the case that it's hypocritical to only be an activist online, right? I think we have to side-step a bit of a pitfall because some people have good reasons they aren't up to real life protesting... but accepting that's a minority of people and putting that to one side, how much direct action before you're not a hypocrite, and what counts, in your view?

If you don't take action on something, is it better in your view to not talk about it at all? But isn't the "something" of talking still better than nothing?

I'm not trying to back you into a corner here, I'm trying to understand your POV.

Yeah I’m not sure the logic here. “Redefining the sequel” they say, sounds like the want the income from a new game but are worried about fracturing the player base.

I so wish I could be excited for this, but I haven't touched the first ever since the Blizzard/Hong Kong kick off.

A few months ago I'd have been hyped for this but Blizzard's actions have just soured me on their output at the moment.

Not a particularly positive preview here. It sounds like they're just making the event-based PvE events of Overwatch 1 permanent without addressing any of their issues. These events, like the Halloween and Christmas events, have always been really naff, and from this report Overwatch 2's PvE levels are just this but permanent.

Oh, and the long awaited black woman character has been backgrounded for the announcement of a sexy robot lady. Yay.

I think some people forget that probably only 1 or 2 people in the company were responsible for causing the huge backlash.

I always find it weird when people talk about Companies like they're a singular person.

Because companies still act as singular entities. Even if 90% of Blizzard employees think Blitzchung should be able to compete in tournaments, it's not like he's then able to compete in 90% of them. He's banned from them all, so long as the person making that decision still thinks he should be, and that persons bosses don't see fit to take action over it. There's no nuance to the actions of a company that reflects the fact that the people inside it might have a wide range of opinions.

Talking about Blizzard, a company, is very different from talking about Blizzard employees, lots of individual people.
