And done, overall I enjoyed it but I was not a fan of the battles by the end, much would have preferred them to have gone with action RPG approach rather than what we got.

Overall I would give it a high 7/10

This has sold 2.8m, second highest Paper Mario and will likely overtake SPM's 4.3m

Well deserved.

picked this up last week and I'm loving it! the ring based battle system I actually really like although I'm a bit rubbish at it on the boss battles. But the writing, environments and music really make this game shine. Behind BOTW and Odyssey I would put this as my third favourite game on Switch.

Picked this up a few days ago. A few hours in and I'm enjoying it more than I thought I would the environments are a step up over Colour Splash and the game does a good job of keeping you busy with mini tasks that make it feel alive. The Wave Battle system is decent but still not as good as what should have become the series staple in TTYD. I appreciate they actually tried something though. I'm not very good at solving the puzzles but they keep things interesting even if the enemy variety is crap. Unfortunately you still feel the stiff hand of Miyamoto enforcing the use of dull as gooseberry fool characters rather than allowing new interesting ones to be used. The writing is funny though and I've laughed a few times already. One of the real drags so far is your companion. The princess origami person is so tedious and has zero character. So far she's nothing more than instructional prompts, it's really quite odd.

Will be fun to see how this fits in with series ranking. So far I think it has the potential to be 3 or even 2 for me but a lot will depend on how environments, characters and story pans out.

Time for adventure
