I too felt this way  But I also thought the Triforce hunt was brilliant. A literal treasure hunt on the open sea.

Turning up to Great Fish Isle I found pretty disappointing as the game really needs another big area like that probably would have been. I think the triforce hunt varies because from memory you can kind of come at it from different points. I remember grinding the last hours of the game and just getting pissed off. I think I look back more favourably on Wind Waker now than I did when playing it.

It's maybe the greatest missed opportunity in gaming. There's little doubt in my mind that a 'completed' Wind Waker would have been the best game ever made and quite possibly would remain so to this day.

actually the missing dungeons in wind waker were scrapped early in development, not due to time constraints

Do you have a source for that? They've never explicitly said they cut two dungeons but:

Aonuma said:

First of all in terms of time for completion we had to delete two stages, which included some dungeons. Yet, of course, the volume is big enough, but we had to delete some elements we were originally going to incorporate in the game.

Miyamoto said:

At the end of the production we fought against the clock and there were parts that I was forced to approve even though it didn't feel complete...I apologise that we didn't fix the triforce hunt at the end of the game. It was slow and dull.

Also, when asked about them being added to Wind Waker, HD on Wii U Aonuma said they'd been repurposed in other games:

"Quite honestly, those dungeons we removed we used in other games, so we can't use them in this version!" he told me, with an apologetic laugh.

This. Nintendo's polished more than most games but we can tell which games were a bit more rushed than others. That said been doing more researchers into Origami King and it's the kind of situation where we most wait and see.

Hyrule Historia has details on cut islands (Stovepipe and a GC island), not the cut dungeons we're discussing here.

Lets not get carried away. Wind Waker wouldnt even be in my top three Zelda games even with an extra dungeon. Mainly bar the Triforce hunt, its just way too easy and simplified.

Well given most people's top 3 Zelda's would probably feature prominently in Best games ever lists and a lot of people would have it in their top 3 you not having it in yours doesn't really make much difference.

I'm not even sure it's in mine to be honest but I stand by the above statement.

I’m confused - that video isn’t Zelda.

It looks like a reversion to standard battling, which is good; without partners, which is bad.

Good news:

Characters like Goombella and Vivian and Rawk Hawk were the best thing about Thousand Year Door. If this game has allies and mini-bosses with loads of personality like that then I'll really enjoy it. Definitely looking forward to finding out more about it soon.

YASSS :D

Still a shame that they don’t seem to be visually differentiated from average members of their species, but that’s a definite improvement!
