Good news:

Characters like Goombella and Vivian and Rawk Hawk were the best thing about Thousand Year Door. If this game has allies and mini-bosses with loads of personality like that then I'll really enjoy it. Definitely looking forward to finding out more about it soon.

you know they announced partners along side the game

Just had a look at Base.com and they had a message to say all day one stock has sold out. Wonder if COVID is limiting the amount of physical copies they can ship? If that’s the case and you are interested it might be worth trying to put a pre-order down.

It seems odd that this game is out in about a month and we're having to piece together what the key systems of the game are by analysing tiny snippets of video.

We should migrate GRcade to Flarum. :toot:

I think they would have been planning to have a big E3 blowout on it next week. I'm expecting the Direct segment it would have had to be adjusted for release to Twitter at some point this month.

Isn’t that, in a way, kind of a good thing? Instead of having every last detail splurged on us months before release, this game is genuinely a mystery. With a franchise I actually trusted and consistently liked that would be quite exciting: imagine if they did that for Pokémon instead of giving us a year of buildup.

...of course, it’s Paper Mario instead and in this case I’d like to see more to make sure they haven’t screwed the Poochy again.

Check out my YouTube channel!
One man should not have this much power in this game. Luckily I'm not an ordinary man.

Immediate thoughts:

Battle system looks intriguing and different but cant see where the complexity is, yet.

The different worlds look fun to explore with plenty to do

Inanimate objects as bosses is lame and unimaginative

Bosses look lame, that battle wheel thing looks like it will just piss me off.

Just pre-ordered this, hopefully it'll be better than its predecessors. I don't think it'll top TTYD any day (I'd love a remake of that, exactly as it is) but I want to give it a chance.

I've pre-ordered it, but honestly I'm still kind of considering cancellation. The bosses are rubbish, the companions are dubious, and there's still no sign of any point to the battles.

Not a great showcase of character design

The random genre shifts at the start of the trailer looked like the most interesting parts

I’m still sceptical, in the world it looks great but the battle system doesn’t grab me at all.

if you cant find a bit of joy in fighting a tape dispenser then you may be doomed to cynicism

tape dispenser is my favourite Mario character. Hope it gets added in Smash along with Toad.

so the hammers and stuff you get for battles will break after a while so you will need to keep buying replacements. seems to be a trend with Nintendo at the moment.
