Sticker Star is legitimately one of the worst games I have ever played from a major company, so I can't say I'm surprised people get frustrated that it's being used as a template for all future games.

DPD driver insisted he hand me this personally rather than leaving it in my porch. Wasn't wearing a mask either.

Might still be more fun than the game!

(Sorry, I’ll retreat from this thread now and let y’all enjoy it.)

Enemies die in a single hit, jumping on them in the overworld for the first strike has no purpose, Mario has a billion HP and the average enemy deals like 2 damage if you actually let them live. I'm already trying my best to avoid enemies.
I don't know what I was expecting, I was just hoping the combat would at least be better than Sticker Splash.

Same. I mean, it still looks like a fun story/adventure.

I want to play this for all of the genre-shifting parts of the trailers and the script in general but the combat and boss design is putting me off. It almost sounds like the game would be better off without the combat system entirely.

The battles are quite annoying but the game itself has had me laughing quite often from the first 5 minutes in!

Got To the point where you rescue Luigi. Don’t really know what to make of it, better than the sticker one but still not keen on the battles. I suppose the best way to play it is forget about the better Paper Mario games and just play it for what it is.

Just defeated the first boss... Definitely more interesting than the regular battles, just a very odd way to do them!

I've completed what would be the first chapter if it were split into chapters and I like it. Got a good completionist element to it with all the hidden toads.

I'm actively avoiding all battles though. The battle system works better in boss fights but should have been dropped elsewhere.
