I'm still missing so many toads just from the first area. It's crazy how many are hidden, I've taken to actively bashing everything in sight with my hammer as I found one disguised as a flower! (I have the radar and bell but it's more fun this way!)

I'm on the blue chapter now, and I'm really loving it. The battles get too tedious though, but im glad I can whack goombas now without the hassle!

Got to the end of the red streamer. A lot of fun so far, some hilarious moments, it looks and sounds great and I've enjoyed making my way through the world. I don't hate the battles, they're not amazing but I'm not bored yet. Boss setup is more interesting too.

I disagree, I think the timers add some pressure and a bit of difficulty to the battles. There's much less challenge if you could take as long as you want.

Started this today. Its so charming. Love exploring and finding things. Battles are already boring and I'm only about 2 hours in. Shame as the rest of the game is excellent.

I agree, sounds like the good parts of this are really good but the battles are just sounding rather pointless? If they’re going to have simple battle mechanics I’d have preferred a return to Super Paper Mario’s system. I would say I’ll wait for a sale to pick this up but with it being a first party Nintendo title chances of that are slim to none so it’ll probably go un-bought.

I started this tonight and I’m really enjoying it, even the battles I am liking (I do hope they get more challenging as you progress)

I'm only 4-5 hours in but so far I wouldn't call the battles pointless. They're quick, quite satisfying to get right and already getting more complex. I don't know what the ceiling is but it's certainly not spoiling the game. I'm also running out of coins-there's equipment to buy and progress to be made, even if it isn't wrapped up with EXP points. And the 2 boss battles so far have been brilliant.

If you go in wanting a deep RPG system then it will obviously disappoint but there's a lot of good stuff on offer here.

I've completed the red streamer, I'm not doing any non-mandatory fights, spent a few K on toad finding badges and I've still got about 12k in coins.

I really like the writing in this but I’m bored outta my mind playing it. A few hours in and I’ve yet to actually be attacked, or fail to kill anything with one hit.

Just finished the yellow streamer. This game is brilliant, the locations are an absolute joy to explore. I criticised the boss design on first viewing but they really work quite well within the context of the game. For example, the disco stapler cracked me up :lol:

One thing I like is how locations change once you've completed them. I loved returning to Shroom City and speaking to everyone with new dialogue. Excited to return to The Great Sea next.
