The Nintendo GameCube classic Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door returns with updated graphics on Nintendo Switch! Join Mario and friends in an RPG adventure to discover the legendary treasure behind the ancient Thousand-Year Door. Will Mario complete his papery quest, or will he crumple under the pressure?

The hunt for the Crystal Stars begins
After Princess Peach asks for his help on a treasure hunt, Mario heads to the town of Rogueport. But when he arrives, Peach is nowhere to be seen! Upon learning about the legend of the Crystal Stars, Mario sets out to find these mythical treasures and hopefully track down Peach along the way.

Image

Of course, Mario isn't the only one hoping to find the Crystal Stars – and it’s not just Bowser who’s looking to cause trouble this time either! Can our hero find these ancient artifacts, open the Thousand-Year Door and maybe even save the world?

A paper world full of surprises
To find the Crystal Stars, you’ll have to venture beyond the walls of Rogueport and see the world! All kind of discoveries are waiting for you: a huge dragon hiding in a creepy castle, a cursed town cloaked in perpetual twilight, daring detective work aboard a moving train and much more!

Image

When it comes to getting around and exploring, Mario’s Paper Abilities can help! Try turning into a paper plane to fly over gaps or becoming paper-thin to squeeze through tight spaces. There are even more abilities to find too!

A parade of partners
During your journey, you’ll meet a colourful cast of characters who’ll happily join you for the ride. Not only will these allies be able to help you track down the Crystal Stars, they’ll also bring their own flair to the journey!

Image

Each partner has their own unique abilities, such as Goombella revealing information about enemies or places, Koops being able to grab out-of-reach items, Madame Flurrie blowing away obstacles to uncover secret paths and more. You can even utilise these skills in combat to give yourself an edge over your opponents.

The theatre of battle
Spotted any enemies on your travels? Take them on in turn-based combat, in front of an excitable audience! You can use all kinds of methods to take down the opposition, including attacks earned by equipping special Badges and Special moves that channel the power of the Crystal Stars.

Perform your attacks with well-timed button presses to increase your power, or hit the button as you’re attacked to reduce the damage you take. The better you do, the more the crowd will cheer you on!

Ghost Trick and TTYD remasters in consecutive years. What an absolute treat for fans of release schedule padding.

I wonder if they’ll retranslate Vivian to be transgender in the English version

Original was great, it was also 60fps, the trailers for this are 30fps according to DF. :dread:
