Looks really good, I'm very excited for this! Just hope it doesn't launch too close to Cyberpunk.

Delayed with no new release date (just confirmation it won't be this year) and the developer is being replaced. Doesn't bode well.

Ugh.

I'm just not bothering to get excited about things any more.

Soon as they got rid of Brian Mitsoda (and Cara Ellison left the project) I put it down as vapourware.

Never gonna happen.

Was Brian Mitsoda the guy who worked on the writing for the first game?

Yup. He got fired out of nowhere about a year ago. Ellison, who's an extremely good writer too, left quietly not long after.

Far as I know there's now none of the original Bloodlines team anywhere near this.

The rumour was the higher ups wanted the entire third act reworked (ie cut down) to save costs so they fired the writers who refused to write something new.

Wow, I missed all of that. That's a huge shame.

Hopefully we do eventually get some more good games set in this universe but who knows what is going through the publisher's mind. They seem completely incompetent.

For what it's worth I really, really enjoyed the two visual novels that came out last year.

I now wouldn't be surprised if Swansong also amounts to nothing.

It's not just a simple delay.

We have now chosen to postpone the release of the game further, and we will not be launching the game in 2021. We have also decided that Hardsuit Labs will no longer be leading the development of Bloodlines 2, and we have started a collaboration with a new studio partner to finish work on the game. This has been a difficult decision, but we are convinced that it is the right way forward to do the game justice.

For anyone interested in the World of Darkness, Werewolf The Apocalypse: Heart of the Forest just released on PS4/PS5. I hadn't heard of it before but it's a text based RPG that looks really good and seems to have reviewed well so I think I'll be treating myself at the weekend.
