I signed up for the trial of Paramount+ via amazon prime and can only find Beavis and Butthead Do America. Sigh

Really? Universe is showing up on UK Paramount+ for me.

Could be that they won't show it on the Amazon channel I guess

I just don't believe that all these companies can be successful going their own way with their own dedicated streaming services. When is too much... too much?

I've just binned off Netflix, the range was only getting poorer, and when I don't necessarily have time to watch a film or series as soon as it goes on the service, the speed at which stuff I do want to watch gets cycled out was getting very annoying.

Can you imagine if music streaming services had taken the route video streaming currently is? Every different label offering their own service, exclusivity deals all over the place, libraries impossible to maintain as songs disappear and reappear. Piracy would still be rife, and the artists and labels would be making barely anything. Can't understand why these video streaming services seem to think people want to be shelling out for multiple different subs, and that people aren't just going to continue pirating content that's rapidly becoming too expensive. Especially as Netflix are now talking about introducing an ad supported tier to keep prices down. If there's adverts, why pay at all?

The various video streaming options is becoming a bit of a nightmare. Our solution at the moment is to spread the cost within the family (my brothers and I each cover 1 of Netflix, Prime and Disney individually) and then password share. This is fine but if they crackdown on it the cost for all 3 is hard to justify.

One option is to subscription hop and change up who you subscribe to every few months, binge the content you want and then move to another which will have new content.

Always pissed me off with Sky this and that's far more expensive than the streaming sites. Glad I cancelled it

This is what annoys me. I would happily pay, I dunno, £30 a month for a service that combined everything into one place. Having to use an app to check which films are available at what times on which service is diabolical. It's 2022, they need to sort this gooseberry fool out.

Am I missing something obvious or is it still impossible to download the Paramount + app on LG TVs?

Come back Cable, all is forgiven.

You look back though and the dawn of Sky+ in 2001, or the lesser known Tivo before that, was close to ideal. Okay so you had to remember when everything was on to record it, but at least back then Sky did actually have everything. Unfortunately the arrival of PremPlus at around about the same time was a sign of things to come.

Streaming is better in the sense of no contracts, no commercials, and the ability to control your spend. With cable and satellite you often ended up paying for stuff you may have had no interest in. Streaming has become a massive pain in keeping track of where everything is and remembering to cancel one service just to sign up to another. You could have like 15 different streaming accounts!

The only way it gets sorted is companies getting absorbed by the biggest ones

There isn't an app for LG TVs yet I think, just Samsung.

Using the free 30 day trial offered with that subscription service on Xbox and it's decent enough.

The Mrs is watching Yellow road (I think that's what its called) and I've watched the first 3 episodes of Halo (ok so far) but because this has Smithsonian I really enjoy America in Colour, it's amazing seeing the US from the 1920's up till the 60's and learn about the great depression, the wars and civil rights... essential viewing imo.

Exactly, man. I see a future where every media publisher (film, TV, music, gaming, sport, reading) has their own streaming platform with their own monthly subscription. It's gonna be ridiculous.

Right now I'm paying for Netflix and Disney+ and, with my current income, I can't really justify that. Gotta sack one off and I think I'll keep Disney+. Will then probably cycle between the two every other month or so!

We're watching Mission: Impossible - Fallout on it through Sky. Needed something the kids could watch as well as us. Will have a look at what else it has to offer soon.

No idea why that's not been rolled out in the UK yet. Absolutely bizarre move.

You can add it as a "Channel" in Prime Video though, but you can't use an existing P+ sub, you have to do it through Prime.

Yeah I've seen this, annoying though as then I'll just have 7 days rather than a month.

First world problems it may be, but this has annoyed me even more than Forest getting hammered this evening.
