I think the Khan folder thing was basically just meant to lead in to the descendant of his that we see in Enterprise, who was obsessed with the augments that were created in the Eugenics wars (which are also the reason the research Soong was doing in Picard was illegal). In that context I didn't mind it and figured it was just a nice nod to how we know the Soong family line ends up going.

Every time I think about the show I find extra reasons to be disappointed.

I can cope with the TNG crew returning but why did they have to bring the insufferable Picard supporting cast along too? Rios was the only one I liked and he’s now living in the past.

Seven is out of place here when surely the idea of doing a spin-off based around The Doctor from Voyager is so obvious.

Season 3 needs to be strawberry floating amazing just to bring this show back to not strawberry floating gooseberry fool status.

How they managed to turn what should have been a triumphant return of a much loved character into this disaster is a mystery I hope we never find the answer to as it'l be depressing as strawberry float.

Gates McFadden should have just aged gracefully. That's some plastic surgery.

This looks like a mess again. I will watch it anyway. Where's Miles O'Brien though?!?

I know everyone loves this show, so I expect there's a lot of excitement for 16 February. ;)

I'm praying for it to not be gooseberry fool. I remain unconvinced it will not be.

While I will watch this the problem is the show has been such a collosal clusterfuck so far that unless it's somehow bloody amazing it's going to be pulled down by its own history.

Well that wasn’t terrible.

Remember how S2e1 seemed to ignore everything that went before and whilst it wasn’t good you felt hopefully as it wasn’t bad and was divorced from what vane before? It’s that all over again.

RedLetterMedia have apparently confirmed on Patreon they'll be reviewing this again. Almost certainly baited by that "this will be boring" line in the trailer.

It seemed determined to feel like one of the TOS movies.
Lots of lingering model shots, the same starbase, the font, the score playing over everything.

But so far I'm not hating it. I may even go so far as to say I actively enjoyed parts of it.

We'll see how it goes. I remember really liking that first episode of season 2 as well and we know how that turned out. :dread:
