I think it would be a common usage for the holodeck to be fair.
There are kids on the Enterprise so I imagine teenagers would have some use for it for a start :slol: .

With Discovery Season 3 looking like it's shaping up to be a clusterfuck of Brexit omnishambles proportions, at least Picard is making it look like we'll get at least 1 good trek series next year,

“In a way, the world of ‘Next Generation’ had been too perfect and too protected,” he says. “It was the Enterprise. It was a safe world of respect and communication and care and, sometimes, fun.” In “Picard,” the Federation — a union of planets bonded by shared democratic values — has taken an isolationist turn. The new show, Stewart says, “was me responding to the world of Brexit and Trump and feeling, ‘Why hasn’t the Federation changed? Why hasn’t Starfleet changed?’ Maybe they’re not as reliable and trustworthy as we all thought.”

I think that pretty much confirms Starfleet HQ will be in Luton and the first 5 episodes will be set there :toot: .

24th Century Luton will be like a dream come true  . There'll most likely be a throw away reference to Luton Town FC winning the European cup for the 50th time.

If Picard drinks coffee they may as well cancel it now :x .
The first words he speaks should be "Tea, Earl Grey, hot!" and if they aren't then there's going to be problems.

I mean it's a bit late to complain about that when it comes to Star Trek really given that literally every series has had black cast members playing main characters.

Is this going to be a single drop, or drip fed weekly episodes?

Isn't it a CBS show rather than Amazon really? They probably aren't as keen on the "all at once" model.

Yeah I'm not sure why I thought that.

I'd just assumed I guess. Ah well.

I think weekly releases really hurt Discovery. I think I'd have enjoyed it a bit more if I could binge it in one go. It's easier to follow an average series if you can do it in one block, as generally I lost interest by the mid point of the season.

Gonna watch this one early this evening when my office has cleared out a bit.
