We're not supposed to know exactly why at this point but her final words with Maddox make it clear that she regrets her involvement in their work:

"your contribution was essential"
"one more thing I have to atone for"

And that she's aware of something that neither we the viewers or Maddox are at this point:

"I wish you knew what I know, I wish I didn't know what I know, I wish they hadn't shown me..."

Presumably we'll learn what she's on about soon :dread:

She's probably a spy. There isn't actually that much left.

Problem I can see

They've set up this massive secret. The one that convinces the Romulan cult that all synthetics must die. (And IIRC can kill people with it's shocking nature if they handle it badly)

And now Oh's revealed it to her, she immediately does a 180 turn on the issue, and is willing to kill ex-lover.

There's no way the "secret" can live up to weight put on it

Yeah it might be a hard one to pull of now but we'll see if they manage it.

Thanks for the explanation. Was annoying when she did what she did at the end and just mumbled lol.

My guess
the Borg had some hand in the creation of synthetic life and at some point they'll rebel and start assimilating everybody. Probably just as Picard turns up at the cube.

Yeah I’m also absolutely sure it’s something like that. My thoughts were that ancient Romulans accidentally created the Borg and banished them to the Delta Quadrant 800 centuries ago.

But why would that make her switch sides?

The idea being that somehow synthetic life will always end up becoming Borg-esque in nature, and the Federation conspiracy have convinced Agnes of this and that she needs to atone for her work by killing Maddox.

I take it you didn't see the ending to Voyager? Voyager obliterated the Borg which is probably why their parts are so valuable now

I meant the synthetics would start assimilating everyone to create a new Borg, rather than the existing Borg would show up.

My understanding is that they only managed to destroy one Borg Unimatrix (Unimatrix 01, as per Seven's full name)

According to the wiki they're still operating. I don't think I've watched the end of voyager since it aired on sky for the first time.

So don't just me but I've finally realised where I remember the doctor from!

She's the drummer in Scott Pilgrim!

Didn't realise the new episodes went up in the morning - I'll be watching tonight.

Oh yeah, I hadn't spotted that either! Only thing I knew her from before was The Newsroom.

Much better episode, but bloody hell do they waste a lot of time. It seemed to take nearly half the episode to get to where they needed to be. The bizarre thing is, they have a lot of characters who don't seem to get any time for development when they badly need it. I don't know any of the names of the crew aside from Elnor because of that.

It feels like it's actually getting somewhere.

Can't believe they killed off the ninja block like that, although I guess he might not be dead.

It was made pretty clear that he’s not going to pelt it. He’ll be beamed back to the ship - probably alongside Hugh - and that’ll be the end of it.

i didn't for one second think he was going to be in any danger, he even said choose to live to the Vulcans. He will be fine they didn't kill him off. That's how I saw it anyway
