Don't be silly, if that looks like it may happen Wesley Crusher will save the day as always :toot: .
The series will end with Wesley looking all smug and about to give a victory speech and Picard doing the famous "Shut up Wesley!" line.

If it was actually star Trek it would end when Picard brokered a peace by getting everyone to sit down and talk through their problems. It won't though. They're going to shoot each other.

They should just reverse the polarity of the neutron flow as that always seems to work :shifty: .

It's certainly not the ending I was hoping for.
It's not Game of Thrones level bad and unless they do something drastic like just have Q suddenly appear in the last minute and just say "Down with this sort of thing!" and click his fingers and banish the super all powerful AI overlords just as they're about to destroy the galaxy and then say "I couldn't let them kill my precious Picard!" it's not likely to top Thrones for sheer disappointment but I was hoping for better.

Where's Picard's legendary diplomatic skills? Why don't they just get the Vorlons to help as those flower thingies looked suspiciously like Vorlon ships to me and lastly why is that Romulan guy falling for a trap so obvious that even I can spot it?

This is the overwrought film Picard not the diplomatic pragmatic TV show Picard.

I think I'm just a bit tired of series that go for galaxy or universe threatening endings.
This could easily have been a nice series about a small group of synthetics being chased by the Romulans and they could still have the whole Romulan fear of synthetic life idea just without the overblown plot. They Borg could still be a nice bit of fan service and provide a side plot and it could have had a nice cliffhanger ending to make the story a series long thing to keep people watching next year.

The ending seems like it will be a jarring and jumbled mess but I'm going to go in hopeful as I've waited for this for 30 years so I'm not going to give in to despair just yet.

The episode was fine, if cheesy, up until Evil Lady Data's heel turn. It's just not believable - based on what we know about Data and the ideals Soong and Maddox were trying to uphold and Soji's entire character arc up until that moment - and, worse than that, it muddles the core message and themes of the show. I can't see them rescuing this next episode to be honest, which is a shame as there were some bits I liked in earlier eps.

Oh well, it was good for a couple of episodes in the middle at least.

I didn't mind the episode, in fact I thought the Cube coming down was quite exciting. I'm trying really hard with this not to bring my TNG perspective because it ruined my enjoyment of the first episodes (even basic things such as the fashion change to more modern styles as opposed to the TNG era). But I'm excited for the next episode

I hope this ends with Dr Crusher getting it on with another space ghost.

That's one of very few things that could actually redeem it at this point!

Yeah that wasn't good at all.

It's just so stupid and unimaginative.

Very odd ending.
It's nice to know that when the Romulans want to target something they take strawberry floating ages doing so and when they say "Fire NOW!" they actually mean "Yeah, some time this week will be fine but no rush mate, it's not like we think it'll be the end of all life in the galaxy!" I'm now wondering why any other race is worried about them.

I like the fact they have at least 5 plantery annihilation fire weapons patterns

That bit genuinely puzzled me.
Plans 1 to 4 must have been really shitty as surely planetary annihilation should be pretty basic as you just pound the gooseberry fool out of the place with the biggest guns they have. They also don't seem to be able to fight more than 1 thing at a time as surely they could have used half the ships to fight the flower ships and just had the other half just fire randomly at the planet.

They make Zapp Braniggan look like a good commander.

That was the super duper galaxy killing AI thingy. Seemed a bit rubbish and slow if you ask me but then again after finding out the Romulans need 5 plans to work out how to bombard a planet I'm not sure how smart anyone is any more.
