As do I. I'm just hoping they have a team working on it that understand how they can make the connection stable. There's nothing worse than playing for 3 hours to then have people start dropping due to connection issues.

I dont know why, but that sounds strawberry floating incredible.

Definitely. I guess nothing came of letting people host games on their own servers which is a shame. That was possible in Civ IV, right? I don't know why it wasn't brought to V. Oh well, hopefully this will turn out better.

Civ V has Linux dedicated server support - it's a bit of a ballache, though.

If Alpha Centari 2 has the same technology built-in I could look into hosting a GRcade server.

That would be great. Thanks, Karl. Hopefully C:BE has decent online support.

I'm going to wait as well because there's bound to be another coupon before it releases, and it might be even cheaper elsewhere.

You can now pre-purchase this for £29.99 from the Steam store. There's also a free map pack if you pre-purchase.
http://store.steampowered.com/app/65980/
Pre-purchase Sid Meier’s Civilization: Beyond Earth and receive the Exoplanets Map Pack for free.

The Exoplanets Map Pack includes six custom maps inspired by real-world exoplanets. Specialized scripts produce randomized geographic layouts each time a new game begins, allowing for even more replayability on new alien worlds.

• Kepler 186f: This lush forest planet is one of the oldest known Earth-like planets.
• Rigil Khantoris Bb: Orbiting the closest star to the solar system, the historical records of this arid continental planet’s settlement are well-preserved.
• Tau Ceti d: This planet of seas and archipelagos features a booming biodiversity and a wealth of resources.
• Mu Arae f: Tidally locked in orbit around a weak star, the southern hemisphere of this planet is a blistering desert where the sun never sets, while the northern hemisphere is perpetually in frozen darkness.
• 82 Eridani e: An alien world of scarce water and wracked by tectonic forces.
• Eta Vulpeculae b: A mysterious new discovery with unknown terrain.

Amazon.co.uk has this available to pre-order for £26.99, with the pre-purchase map pack. I've just submitted a pre-order because it's free to do so.

I'd pre-order with GMG now but money is taken upon ordering so I'll wait until it's a bit closer to being released. I'm building up my JPEG Steam and Playfire credit so I'll see which one is higher nearer to release. Unfortunately, you can't use Playfire credit and coupons on GMG so I'm not risking too much by waiting.

Is anyone else watching the vids of the livestreams they are releasing?

I just finished watching the last one which is about seeded starts. It looks quite interesting.

This video does a great job of summarising some of the gameplay in 10 minutes. It looks great and I'm now even more eager to start playing it!
