Awesome, great idea. Shame it'll never catch on. I can't see places like GAME or Gamestation slapping this up behind the counter as such joe average will never know about it.

1. Gamers shall have the right to return games that don’t work with their computers for a full refund.

2. Gamers shall have the right to demand that games be released in a finished state.

3. Gamers shall have the right to expect meaningful updates after a game’s release.

4. Gamers shall have the right to demand that download managers and updaters not force themselves to run or be forced to load in order to play a game.

5. Gamers shall have the right to expect that the minimum requirements for a game will mean that the game will play adequately on that computer.

6. Gamers shall have the right to expect that games won’t install hidden drivers or other potentially harmful software without their consent.

7. Gamers shall have the right to re-download the latest versions of the games they own at any time.

8. Gamers shall have the right to not be treated as potential criminals by developers or publishers.

9. Gamers shall have the right to demand that a single-player game not force them to be connected to the Internet every time they wish to play.

10. Gamers shall have the right that games which are installed to the hard drive shall not require a CD/DVD to remain in the drive to play.

One of the main issues being addressed is also system requirements, which often baffle PC gamers who aren’t up to speed on their hardware. ‘The average consumer doesn’t know what ‘pixel shader 2.0 support’ means, explained Wardell, adding that ‘without the ability to return games to the publisher for a refund, many potential buyers simply pass on games they might otherwise have bought due to the risk of not being certain a game will work on their PC.’

Spot on. It's why I fell out of love with PC gaming. I just couldn't be sure what would play and what wouldn't - and I got burned too many times trying to find that out. In the end I gave up on PC gaming completely.

I dont mind pc gaming, I am realtively knowledgable with what i have got, and what is capable of, in terms of playing (Atm nothing because it died and I put an axe through it and now it sits in a tip somewhere.... best £1,500 i ever spent! :fp: ) But i do have sympathy for the people that dont know, its an honest mistake to assume it will work on your pc, places like game(station) should accustom to this, as people get lumbered with £30 coasters.

The problem is made worse by the fact that many less technically minded people purchase their PCs from shops such as PC world, where the graphics card is usually a piece of junk.

I agree with every point bar the last as that would pretty much allow people to buy a game, install it then get a refund and carry on playing for free.

I hate PC gaming, so much annoyance ect. The only PC game I will be getting ever, is Left 4 Dead. Sounds like a nice idea though

Nice idea, I love PC Gaming (more so than consoles by a long distance), anything that might help take away the bad press it often gets is a good thing (Piracy, incompatibilities etc).
