Any news on which brand/model is going to be the best to go for in the RTX world yet?

It currently looks like I might be getting some kind of bonus at work toward the end of the year so if I'm going to blow it on something ridiculous like a 2080Ti then I want to make sure I get the right one, I've been really impressed with the MSI GTX970 Twin Frozr I bought when I last upgraded as it has ticked all the boxes for me - it was a great price, overclocked really well, and had a really great cooling setup whereby it was silent for normal desktop activity and still very quiet even when it did spin up faster!

At those prices I think I will hang onto my GTX1070 a while longer. Besides, I'm guessing it will take a couple of years and the release of next gen consoles before ray-casting becomes a common feature in most games so I will wait until the next generation of cards comes out.

Yeah, same here. My 1070 still runs most games on Ultra at 1080, and v high at 1440.

No doubt I'll pick up a 2070 at some point in the future though, especially when Cyberpunk releases

Yeah, the price retention has been insane this generation thanks to strawberry floating bitcoin and the like. The price of my 1070 actually went up by £100 at one point, then settled at about £30 more than I bought it for in April 2016. Which is crazy.

Interesting that the 20 series is launching at a higher equivalent price point this time round though. NVidia cashing in on that sweet, sweet cryptocurrency currency.

I can't wait until the whole cryptocurrency thing fizzles out, they shouldn't have any legitimacy as they are essentially used to fund criminal activity - yes I'm sure some people use bitcoins for perfectly legal purposes but the fact that they're untraceable makes them ideal for drug dealers, peados and people traffickers to do business online.

Just did a partial new build today because my water cooler leaked everywhere and fried my mobo and RAM.

Switched to a Ryzen 2700X, Asus X470-I and some less water infused Corsair LPX RAM. I also built a case from scratch to house it all. It's a very small 20 X 20 X an undisclosed height that will be somewhere around 35ish cm. I've finished the frame but need to work on the actual casing.

I'm sticking with air this time because strawberry float water, so it'll be interesting to see what kinds of temps I get in such a small space once it is clad.
