Pro povo tip. Use the back of an old ringbinder (the inside part) and have it duct taped to your desk.

Cutting mat.

I still use an everglide titan. The bottom is really non slip. It's never curled up. And the cloth won't wear out. Might eventually lose level after what 5+ years of use.

Steelseries still seem to make something similar.

And yeah my desk's polish is going weird as I keep putting it aside.

I like cloth mouse pads, with the soft underlining. Can't do rigid, hard surfaces for the mouse, feels too fast and slippy.

Why's that then?

I use a mouse pad I got from Max Spielman with a family pic on it. Not a K&M gamer so not fussed over a fancy mouse mat/pad.

Same, I use a Razer Goliathus, it takes up a whole quarter of my desk, but it also means I dont need to keep my mouse in one set area, I have plenty space to move it around and I like that. Ive had it for about 7 years now and its been great.

I have too many memories of mouse mats curling up at the sides, or the mouse coming off the edge and screwing you up in games to really want one again. Any recommendations?

I remember the days of shitty mousemats curling up at the edges, but I use cloth ones now or ones that are cloth but mounted in a plastic bracket thing with a wrist rest built in.

Like in all the previews I've seen people are touting how amazing it is that the game doesn't hold your hand in any way, so that when you're examining the scene of a bunch of murdered soldiers, there's no detective vision/Witcher senses pointing you in the right direction, and no quest markers. Which is all fine in theory, but you know witcher senses and detective vision are there for a damn good reason. Because trying to be an actual detective in these games sucks dick and wandering aimlessly hoping to stumble across a clue isn't fun. Tho combat looks dreadful too. I'm also going to go out on a limb here and say this game is going to be Oblivion tier bugs and glitches. I think it looks great, i love the idea of a realistic, grounded medieval game, but it's going to need about 6 months of patches and updates before I'll touch it.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance is officially out on February 13, 2018, but early PS4 players on Resetera have reported that the game downloads a 23GB patch when you insert the disc.

The patch is live in all regions and on all platforms and seems to not only tweak and balance existing features, but add several new ones as well.

The full list of improvements made by Kingdom Come Deliverance patch 1.01 is as follows:

Addition of multiple new events to the open world
Massive improvement in dialogue animations
Gaining money and experience is rebalanced
Weapon and armour stats are rebalanced
General combat improvements
Improved NPC reaction time
Sound propagation adjusted
Archery is now possible in stealth mode
Improved Persuasion UI
Plus numerous other bug fixes and improvements

Will Powers, senior marketing and PR manager for Deep Silver, who’re publishing Kingdom Come: Deliverance, replied to the thread stating that the patch was the result of “at least” six weeks work by Warhorse Studios to further polish the game after they’d submitted the final on-disc build.

He also went on to clarify why the patch is the size that it is, saying:

“The way that I’ve been told that the engine works, is it takes the entire game and separates the PKG or ISO into 2GB archives. If during a patch you so much as alter a 1KB text file within any of these 2GB archives, then you need to reupload the ENTIRE 2GB portion.

“That beings [sic] said, this is a major patch that improves overarching mechanics throughout the game, so it touches almost all of these 2GB archives in the entire game build. Essentially you are having to redownload the game to replace the existing files. It shouldn’t stack them and inflate on your hard drive, but rather replace the previously downloaded build files.”

We were interested to see how Kingdom Come Deliverance would fare after it was delayed multiple times. Our own Alex Donaldson thought what he played out the game was “refreshingly interesting and different” – but a full review is forthcoming.

I mainly use them for the wrist rest and to protect the surface underneath.

I use one at home but I never used one at work until I got my latest job and my mouse has an issue with the wood grain on the desk, it jumps around if I dont use a mouse mat.

Same. It's like 10 years old now and still going strong.

I've always wanted to get one of those boob mouse pads as apparently they feel amazingly comfortable, which is why they're $400 strawberry floating dollars :dread: But the wife might frown upon it.
