I am okay regarding founders tbh, yes they look good but lets be honest thermals wise on anything above a 3070 they aren't exactly cool. I am just biding my time I just get a temptation. :shifty:

Silly. They are fine. They are also the cheapest of all. Not worth the money for better cooling on other cards.

The FEs are best all rounder in my view. But just get your hands on a GPU at RRP.

Probably, for £649 for 3080 v £469 for 3070.

3080 is about 20% faster than 3070 and some 10% slower than 3090.

3080 probably only needed for 4k gaming as the 3070 would be a push. But the 3080 with more VRAM (10Gb) is far more future proof for £180 more.

Yeah, assuming full choice at RRP. I got a 3070 because I nabbed one on launch day.

I made the mistake of cleaning the inside of my case last night (side panel is not clear), I noticed my graphics card was sagging about 2 cm in one corner. I think I had better get something to fit under it. :lol:

It seems that I didn't factor in the my card weighs 1.4KG.

My Gaming X Trio came with a little bracket to support the card and it seems to work well. You can buy them pretty cheaply separately.

Oh god, I can get a gaudy RGB one that I will never see but will be entertaining any ghosts in the area.

I picked up some cheap non RGB one.

Now that we’ve got our son into a more regular sleep schedule (and now that Scan have brought back their 0% finance offer with PayPal), I have decided it is finally time to start playing games on PC again and ditch the hunk of junk that is my current machine.

They had plenty of stock of the GPU and SSD, but the motherboard/RAM/CPU are a fixed bundle. The memory is probably the weakest part of the build, so there’s still room for improvement there but the specs of the 32GB bundled match the 32GB I already have in my machine now so strawberry float it, chuck all 4 dimms in there

I hope so, but my display’s 5120x1440 so it needs the grunt. If I can get the 4 years (until the finance is paid off) before I have to start compromising to keep the frame rate above where the display gets some nasty Freesync flicker, I’ll be happy.

I run 3440×1440 at 144hz on a 3070 and ryzen 3600x. It’s brilliant. Settings on ultra and only ray tracing needs DLSS and you see the FPS come down on the ‘quality’ setting. All older games do 100+ FPS easily. With the 3080 20% faster than 3070, you’ll be fine.

That machine is huge. I can’t see anything worrying that 5950. Top spec CPU and all the cores you would ever want.
