You're going to have a beast of a PC when you get it all together, but I wouldn't be able to stick it out like you have!

It's been 99% an absolute strawberry floating pain in the arse, and 1% genuine bliss (getting a still almost mythically rare 3080FE by sheer chance). I've suffered this much, I may as well try and see it through to the bitter end!

I've been very impressed with my 3700, I got a good deal on it and it has been taking pretty much everything in its stride so far. I bought it with awareness that the 5000 series was out so knew that it was definitely not top of the pile any more but I'm still really pleased with it.

I figured I can always stick a higher power compatible Zen 3 chip in further down the line when needed.

Installed and I am already in your debt. Amazing.

It's nice to be able to browse YouTube without my blood pressure rising from all the horrible thumbnails.

Can I also interest you in SponsorBlock? It automatically skips sponsor segments in videos, great for watching LTT.

We should migrate GRcade to Flarum. :toot:

It's not uncommon for people to try to RMA a graphics card that's really an older one with a sticker on it and flashed firmware - then keep the new one. I suppose after Taff had scalped half of France it was only matter if time until they started fighting back in kind.

The sticker thing is a big one for CPU's bought on Amazon. Some people don't even bother with a sticker, just put the old one in the package and return it.

For anyone thinking of getting one of the AIB partner 6800 or 6800XT there are literally none in the UK unless you got a review unit. They "launched" today. Not a single retailer received a unit and have no idea when they will get one. Same for the rest of Europe and Canada.

I love the smell of a good paper launch.

At this rate we may as well wait for the 40 and 7000 series cards.

It just gets better. Apparently a lot of reviewers didn't get the cards and some haven't even been told the MSRP on the units. I wonder why

Don't worry Cutty, they will be in stock in the new year, then you can happily pay the Brexit Tax on top of the gouge price.

To add to the utter ridiculousness of this launch cycle, Nvidia are apparently prepping 2 new cards for launch in the next 2 months: the 3060Ti and the 20gb 3080Ti.

https://www.resetera.com/threads/rumor- ... 21.323602/

Absolute nonsense considering the original 3 SKUs are still rare as unicorn piss.

It's such a joke. Like on scan for example they list these new cards bt you can't even pre order them. Apparently there are so many back orders waiting to be filled I'm assuming they get first dibs. I don't really understand what's going on tbh. Why list new cards from manufactures if you can't even get on some kind of waiting list?

I can't believe enough people are willing to pay the ransom on scapled cards that the bots are still just buying up everything that comes into stock. Unless these people are just building themselves thrones out of RTX3080s and 70s. There must be serious supply issues.

I think part of the issue might be the retailers. If you go onto their stores it's perfectly possible to buy pre-built PCs containing new cards. Obviously they have decided it's more worth their while to use the inventory they receive to flog their existing hardware than sell them as individual components.
