I got it for £400 from Currys back in May or June, it's pretty good.

New CPU arrived today and hopefully the mobo will be here either tomorrow or Thursday. New build day is nearly here for me! :toot:

Picking up a new 1TB SSD today or tomorrow as I'm putting off a new build till next year and this is a component which I can use now as a supplemental SSD and then move across to a newer machine in future.

Any brands I should avoid? The bigger version of my current Sandisk one has had some bad reviews but it's been fine for me. I'm sticking with SATA as I've heard NVME/m.2 isn't that much of a boost for gaming and I'm not sure my current motherboard will support it (does it also risk getting in the way of coolers/GPUs etc?)

Rando question: what technique is recommended for thermal paste application these days? I've always used the "pea sized blob in the middle" approach and never had problems.

I think some recommend and x shape for the Ryzens as there are 3 chiplets in there and you want to make sure it even.
