I’m sure someone on here was using Shadow or at least something similar?

What's the difference between that and the Nvidia option?

But then someone suggested just using a Shadow Virtual PC instead.
Had a quick look, cheap(ish) to rent a month, great specs, downloads to "your" PC take a fraction of the time using Shadow's internet connection.

What's the GRcade PC Gamer opinion of the Shadow solution? Legitimately good? Or Google Stadia 2.0?

As with any cloud gaming platform, it comes down to input latency. What kind of games will you be playing? Twitch shooters and fighting games will be most adversely affected, but a TBS won't be as bad.

Don't shadow offer a free trial? You could always give it a go for a bit. I've been tempted myself, but not dipped my toe. Not sure if anyone else here has.

Valve cracking down on region hopping to take advantage of cheaper foreign prices. You're now required to use a payment method registered to the country you're buying from.

I’m really clueless about things like this, but which of these headsets is better? Razer Nari or Steel Series Arctis 1?

The Steel Series is newer, and I saw it recommended on a GamesRadar ( :slol: ) list of best headsets for Switch, but my Laptop is Razor, so I’m not sure if there’s any benefit, and it seems a hefty reduction at £50 off. Ideally want to use with my laptop, Switch and PS4(/5?). Currently use my phone, which is far from ideal. Apologies if this is the wrong place to ask, just desperate for some advice from people who know what they’re talking about.

I'd stay away from both, instead look for something from AKG or the likes.

Stugene isn't around much anymore, but he used to give some excellent advice.

Can anyone help me? I want to play through the Mass Effect games again on PC with all the best mods, but looking at said mods and their install guides etc makes my head hurt. Can someone recommend the best mods and how to install them? I'm after stuff that enhances the games rather than adds other stuff, so graphics/textures, sound, that sort of thing. I've got the games on Origin by the way.

I used Texmod for hi-res textures etc so that’s what you’d use.

Crusader Kings III is picking up some absolutely stellar reviews and launches today at 5pm. It’s included with Gamepass.

Also today at 5pm: Nvidia announce their new high-end consumer GPUs. Supposedly a 3070, 3080 and 3090, the latter of which has a frankly ridiculous 24GB VRAM according to vendor leaks, and will probably cost 2 grand.

Gamepass PC is a wonderful deal. More games that I want to play than I have time for frankly. I'm hoping I can pick up a 3070 for not too much money.

We should migrate GRcade to Flarum. :toot:

It’s The Best Deal In Gaming™

Honestly, for the way that I consume games these days (I play a little of a lot of games until something sticks) it’s saved me from spending hundreds of pounds I can guarantee I would have absolutely spent buying these exact same titles to own.

I don't play much on there (there isn't currently that much I can play) but so far I've saved around £150 with my Gamepass sub.

Gears Tactics and Wasteland 3 are £55 each on Steam so it was a no-brainer to pay £4 per month for Gamepass.

I've had Game Pass on PC for nearly a year now and it has definitely been great value, although I haven't really made much use of it in the last few months. Even if there are only a couple of games you are interested in playing on there it's still a bargain

Prices not as bad as feared.

3070 will cost you £469
3080 will cost you £649
3090 will cost you £1399

Titan branding is dropped. That’s the 3090.

A 3080 for me, I think

You also may want to know that you also get Watch Dogs: Legion and a 1-Year GeForce NOW Subscription if you get a founders card from nvidia.
