haha I got mine a few months back after many months deciding on the right one. I'm very happy with it. Also apparently it works with PS5 with hdmi 2.0 by downsampling from 4k @60hz and it looks good according to users on reddit. Hopefully PS5 will get true 1440p support with an update down the line

I got mine from Overclockers as they were the only people selling it at the time, so there was a massive wait due to panel production issues. Waited 2 months from release.

Anyone know how long sale prices tend to stick around at Currys? Pretty much decided on the 27GL850-B now but was planning to wait until payday to pull the trigger!

I just clicked on the link and Currys has a queue to get on the website. I wonder if this is a reaction to all the tech that has been released in the last 2 months and peeps F5ing like mother truckers.

Currys are getting more PS5 stock today.

That would explain the 16k people in the queue.

The rest of my new PC is apparently arriving tomorrow along with my 5600X. Got emailed a Far Cry 6 code.

Nice!

Just realised in the rush of my "oh strawberry float have I killed my CPU?!" build a few week back I never bothered to go back into he BIOS and set the RAM to the correct speed so I'd been using my 3600mhz RAM at the default 2300 speed! :fp:

Not expecting it to make a massive difference but it's still better to get it right! :slol:

Terrifying moment building my PC at the end where it wouldn't display video just now. :dread: Switched to HDMI from Displayport and it works.

Phew! There's always got to be at least one "oh gooseberry fool" moment per build!

A worse one occurred twenty minutes before where I dropped a screw in the case trying to screw in the GPU and couldn't find it. I eventually found a screw under the case which I'm choosing to believe is it.

Had a similar moment when putting in my new PSU and 3080. Wired everything up, fixed everything in place, hit the power button...

nothing

not a sausage.

I genuinely didn't know what to do. Turns out I'd only connected half of the 24 pin mobo connector to the PSU, thank strawberry float.

Christ M.2 SSDs are fast. My old PC took like 5 minutes to turn on to desktop, this is less than 20 seconds.

Wait till you try a game that used to take an age to load.

I'm hoping that future developers find better ways to take advantage of them because for now the M.2 drives don't offer much over SATA SSDs for gaming.

I suspect any game that is also on PS5 and XBX will eventually be able to take advantage of the greater speeds of PCIe 4.0.

With my SATA my startup takes around...5 seconds I think? Definitely less than 10

EDIT: Just timed it. 10 secs exactly from power on to desktop

Yeah my previous SATA SSD booted in less than 10 as well.

If anything my new M.2 machine boots slower!

Like mine where the faulty motherboard destroyed every single HDD connected to it, the only consolation being that the brand new NVMe was spared.
