What is it about?

Birmingham 1919: Thomas Shelby and his family run the most feared and powerful local gang, the Peaky Blinders. Named for their practice of sewing razor blades into the peaks of their caps, they make money from illegal betting, protection and the black market. But Tommy’s ambitions go beyond running the streets, and when a crate of guns falls into his hands, he recognises an opportunity to move up in the world. Crime pays, but business pays better.

First episode was on tonight, anyone catch it? Looks stunning, has to be said, BBC have really gone all out on it. Great cast too.

I saw the last two episodes after a friend recommended it. Seemed quite good from what I saw though.

I will definitely have to watch the second series to find out who shot who at the end. I think that Grace shot Inspector Campbell but my friend thinks he shot himself.

It'd help if the Title wasn't so gooseberry fool, sounds like some shitty Channel 4 panel show.

As I kept missing episodes I decided to treat myself to the blu ray set, may actually get around to watching it one day.

I watched it, looking forward to the next season.

Though in reality they were apparently that era's Chav equivalent:

Just finished series 1 (finally), fantastic little show compared to the American big leagues.

Waiting for that Cillian Murphy/Tom Hardy screen time :datass:

Cracking first episode, that  Nice to see another quality actor come into the fray with Noah Taylor (Game of Thrones).

Much better 2nd series. Looking forward to the 3rd. Plenty of threads left over to deal with.

In general i'm still not quite one hundred percent sold on the show; i find some of the dialogue clumsy and not all the characters convincing or interesting.

It is however entertaining with some great visual and music choices.

And that last episode was just plain fantastic. Genuinely tense and the penultimate scene was gripping.

Tom Hardy's presence has been much appreciated; his scene this episode was crazy fun.

Agree that Series 2 > 1 overall.
