Anyone had any experience with Peli cases and getting custom foam inserts?

Thinking of getting the Peli Air 1535 for a camera, couple of lenses, and 2 laptops but what I want to do is stack the objects so I'd have:

--Surfacebook----
----MacBook------
--Telephoto lens--
--------------------

But I find the online editor so difficult to use / visualise that it is getting the depths right.

We get similar at work although we don't use the peli brand anymore I don't think.

The ones we get can come with or without foam, with the foam version included a number of layers of scored (in cubes) foam allowing you to tear out the shape you want from each foam layer.

The pick and pluck (cubed) foam is gash a lot of the time.
Too soft to really hold things safely as it bends and squashes under any real weight.

Kaizen/layered/tool foam is the dogs danglies for custom cases..
Cut it nice and tight with a knife, custom depths for each item makes every flush, secure and cool looking.

Use it on my gun cases (pelican copies).

I think the difficulty would be getting exact shapes for lenses and cameras etc. might be worth a look though.

I've seen a few companies that will do it but they need CAD images - better start learning that now.
