I might have to consider getting an Xbox for this.

Would be great if they could get the original voice of Joanna Dark back (Eveline Fischer/Novakovic).

Struggling to understand the hype for this. Don't get me wrong, I loved Zero but it was nothing special and most of my enjoyment for it came from it being a launch title on a shiny new 360.

It's great that Microsoft are announcing more exclusives but, luckily for my wallet, they're still far from tempting me to get an Xbox.

Zero is absolute dogsh*t compared to the N64 original and luckily for my wallet, this is releasing into Gamepass.

In 2021 Flight Sim and Halo Infinite already confirmed.

I don't know what to think at the moment. I've been following rumours of this, which started out as it's a third person stealth game. Then it moved to... it's not episodic, but seasonal... so games as a service? And the last few days I even saw people saying it's not actually a Perfect Dark game, but that each season will be themed around a Microsoft IP. Based on the reveal, that last one doesn't seem true. The interview suggests the third person thing isn't true either, although does sound like they're going for much more of a stealth game than a normal FPS.

I guess I should play through Zero...

I don't believe any of the GaaS rumours. I mean they said the same about the Fable and that wasn't true, and the amount of bullsh*t surrounding this game was insane. It looks like it's going to be a straight up SP game to me. Maybe if it has MP that will be constantly updated but just going by the devs being ex Naughty Dog, Sony Santa Monica and lead by former Crystal Dynamics head I expect a polished, slick campaign.

I'm with Parksey. I'm not really sure where Perfect Dark fits in the modern gaming landscape. It's world and tone is so late 90s / early 00s, that I think you'd have to shift it so much from the original as to barely have it feel a part of the same universe. Which kind of begs the question why use the PD name at all.

Bringing in some of the evolving mission elements I can imagine being a good way to tie it back to the original while also providing space to drag it more up to date story and gameplaywise.

Will be interesting to see what the Initiative do with it and what the standard of game they can produce is. Given the way they were formed I think you'd be naive to expect a super high calibre end product.
