£42.85 (delivered) @ SimplyGames.

I lucked out massively by being able to pick up SB edition for £40 *after* it launched. On eBay!

Picked this up in the Argos Black Friday sale. About 20 hours in and loving it. Find myself thinking about the game when I'm not playing and jonesing for more. Lost a couple of hours yesterday to it with "Just to the next save room". Having a look to see if I can pick up P4 and vita cheap.

Probably won't happen but I'm still holding out for a "Golden" version of this on Switch. Sold my PS4 copy to a mate since I wasn't really enjoying it.

I stopped playing the PS4 version when something else came along, but I'm planning to return to it at some point. I'd love a version for the Switch.

Can anyone give me some indication of whether it’s worth persevering with this.

I’ve hit 30 hours and just completed the 3rd Palace. I’ve been enjoying it, aside from some incredibly frustrating moments where the game failed to tell me I’d hit an instant fail point and that stupid strawberry floating 2nd Palace Boss. After beating the third boss last night though I just had a sense of fatigue with the game, I don’t really know why I would push on for another 30+ hours. I feel like I know what the game is about now and unless anything radically changes I don’t feel compelled to continue. Mainly it’s the thought of just spending that time lazily just tapping X through seemingly endless repetitive dialogue. I’m surprised how much of that there is didn’t see it marked down more by reviewers, the 30 hours I’ve spent in the game most of it is just tap X to move plot forward. Don’t get me wrong I have enjoyed my time a lot and I can see what it’s highly rated but so far I’m not invested enough to spend another 30 hours or maybe double that just to push to the end.

strawberry float this game and it’s never ending bullshit.

Honestly, I have never played a games even a tenth as disrespectful to a players time as it’s total horseshit. I’m on Easy and I reckon I’ve lost at least 10 hours to one hit kills, Grindr horseshit not giving you anywhere to save and just random strawberry floating combat wankers. Not only that but it has outstayed it’s welcome by a good 20 hours and rather than try to zip along to the end it just digs it’s heels in and throws more and more grindy repetitive crap at you. For the last 10 at least I’ve been zipping through conversations as fast as I can while not skipping it entirely because the game ran out of things to say about 30 hours ago and everything since has just been filler. Even as I fall down the gooseberry fool covered hill to the finish it’s strawberry floating nonsense as the natural climax to the story was about 7 hours ago already and because I did the last palace at the start of the allotted time I just had to run down the through the clock for about 15 days because there’s nothing else to do and Because it’s P5 it won’t let me just skip through this nonsense.

I can only imagine the high scores for the game are awarded because of the 30 hours, because the last 40 has been pedestrian at best.

Persona 4 is a grind fest to me. Gave up playing it on the Vita months ago. Not been tempted to go back since

eponymous bollock, that sounds like my experience with Persona 3 (FES and then P3P). It was a game I found enjoyable and refreshing for a long time but it just went on for far too long. A lot of content is good but it felt padded out and much of the text wasn't very interesting - specifically a lot of the stuff the teachers said. It's a game I would have liked to replay otherwise, to get the rest of the social links for one (as it's not really possible to get all social links in one playthrough without a strict guide).

Shame to hear that Persona 5 doesn't seem to be a more condensed experience - at least in regards to the main story.

Not even my main problem with the games but... They are still so charming and there is a lot to like about them. I want to really like them, which is why I'm tempted to give Persona 4 a try even though I've heard it's virtually more of the same. And of course P5 has interested me too.

Yeah, but it's free DLC.

It hasn't been mentioned yet, but P5R was also announced. One will likely be the enhanced version like P3:FES and P4:Golden, I imagine one will be the fighting game. Beyond that, we've already had dancing and Q so we're looking at new formats.

Nothing has been officially announced yet but there's a reveal of some sort coming on the 30th.
