Fuzzy, I suspect that you've just looked at the micro-transactions line? The gameplay features (listed on the same link) sound excellent and the footage looks decent. The preview text that I posted by Official PlayStation Mag also suggests that there are lots of things to be positive about.

Don't get me wrong, game looks promising. However it still has micro-transactions, which is disappointing to see is all.

Yeah, you're right, micro-transactions are a downer but I guess that they're here to stay for most games now. Personally I won't make purchases and I'll stick to the online matches rather than the online management.

New preview - http://www.videogamer.com/ps4/pes_2015/ ... -3735.html

Says the latest build is much better than the E3 one, and that it's more reminiscent of PES 2013 than PES 2014.

Well it's certainly zippier, which fixes one of my main problems, keepers still look inconsistent though.

Yeah, keepers are quite often caught out at their near post. It's much faster and more responsive than last year's game, though. Still some work to be done, but it's early days and they've got most of the basics right, which is promising.

Players get into and out of their routines at a pace that's approaching PES 2013, my favourite of the recent iterations, and are generally swift to follow instruction.

Confirms what I'm seeing in the videos, much more responsive and nippy.

It's been announced that the game will launch on 13 November; later than expected and beyond the usual September / October release window of the franchise. A demo will arrive on 17 September.

The demo arrives a week earlier than the FIFA 15 demo but I'm not sure if that will do PES any favours. FIFA releases a week after the demo and so will be pretty much the final code; PES will still have around six weeks of development time to go.

I'm still optimistic as the screenshots and glimpses of gameplay have looked neat.

Yeah, that's an odd move. If the demo could stand to put people off, you'd think they'd be better off not bothering.

Also, coming out so far after FIFA seems like a poor idea. But they must be getting truly trounced in sales either way now so it may not make much difference. :(

Luckily I usually wait until Christmas before getting the footie games but I do like sampling the demos to see how the games are shaping up. For Joe Public that's possibly only likely to buy one of the two, it's a bit of a risky move so for Konami's sake they better hope it's a really strong build of the game they're basing the demo on. With EA really going all out with the licenses and presentation of Fifa 15, Konami really do need their on pitch stuff to do the talking to have any hope of swaying people (or casuals) towards PES.

I'm probably a huge minority that hasn't really enjoyed either Fifa or PES for a fair few years. I'm still a huge sucker for the Master League though so out of the two i really home Konami can get PES right.

Getting the World Cup winning goalscorer on the box is a decent move by Konami.

Some additional screenshots and info have been made available too:

Last year Konami tasked their UK development team with designing a new menu system, what they got in return was FIFA 14's menus

To be fair I was actually going to comment on how much better the menu design seems to be this time round.

Any Gamescom hands on previews of this doing the rounds yet?

I'm liking the look of that.

Animations look a bit naff, also the ball physics seem a bit wrong but I'm not quite sure what it is.

The animations seem really out of sync with eachother. It's like some are too fast, some too slow and some the right speed, and all played together it looks a bit funny when the players move and do stuff. GK's in particular seem to kick the ball as if they've been hit with some kind of time slowing disease.

Looks better than 2014 though tbf, which can only be good.

I think that video looks pretty good, actually. The ponderousness of so many recent editions seems to have gone. The players seems to be playing 'round the corner' passes quite easily.

I'm facing a tricky decision: buy the popular game so I can actually play online with a lot of different forum people, or buy the one that I'll probably enjoy more. Still love Master League after all these years.
