No sweat, dude - I'm looking forward to when we can get a game in! As long as I don't lose every match :shifty: .

Oh yeah! It's great when you manage to give a pasting to someone using Real or Barca (Ronaldo / Messi "Press Square to score") . I think the guy you played must have thought it was like an older version of PES when the game would cease with no points awarded if someone scored three own goals. That used to be pretty annoying and it's much better that the "cheat" no longer works.

My greatest ever rage quit was when I played against a guy using Real and I went 9-2 up with only around 65 minutes played... the guy quit but luckily I had the highlights recorded  .

And here they are :toot: ...

I had no idea that was a thing. Makes me even happier that I beat him :toot:

I'll watch those highlights later on.

I played someone with a 945 rating last night; got pasted 10-0 and it could have been more.
Those guys up near that level you just get nowhere near, would love to see how they do it. Cos it's something I def ain't doing!

Enjoyed some online matches with Poser and dmin last night... terrific stuff!

Poser v jawa

Arsenal 0-0 Nice
Olympic L 3-1 Lazio

Somehow I had a man sent off in the first half with Nice even though the foul was out near the corner flag  . In the second game I grabbed the opener but Poser turned on the style in the second half, creating openings and cooly tucking away the chances. Great games, man!

dmin v jawa

Olympic DM 1-2 Nice
Liverpool 1-1 Lazio
CSKA Moscow 0-1 Nice
Godoy Cruz 2-1 Boca Juniors
Montpellier 1-1 Bresigne

dmin and I were battling furiously! Every game was close and could have gone either way. dmin kept cool to tuck away a last-kick-of-the-game penalty equaliser for Liverpool :x ( ;) ). It was really enjoyable, dude!

I think I'm gonna have to tinker with my formation as I struggled to get the midfield supporting the attack last night. The defence was reasonably solid but perhaps three up front would help to create more openings. Thanks for the games, guys - I'd be up for doing that again sometime.

Cheers for the games, I really enjoyed that, aside from the endlessly sweaty palms.

The red card ruined that first game as a spectacle (but it was still fun to play: classic edgy Pro Evo!) but you defended ridiculously well (and were a danger on the counter still). I was annoyed at your sending off because I'd had literally just played a game against a random, controlling Barca, and he was fouling me all over the place, and there wasn't a card in sight

In that second game, I think 3-1 flattered me, TBH, especially as that last goal was the final kick of the game. Playing as Lyon, the defenders are the strongest point, no question. There are two guys who just win everything, and are so fast and strong.

Oh, and I definitely think 4-3-3 is the way forward...

Thanks, dude. I think my rigorous defending is built upon many matches of playing against folk using Real and Barca  .

Ah! You know... I had forgotten that Olympic Lyonnaise are Lyon :fp:  . I thought they were a bit good!

Poser wrote:...Oh, and I definitely think 4-3-3 is the way forward...

Yeah, I have to take a look at my formation. Especially against stronger teams, I need more bodies up front in order to try and make a breakthrough.

Great stuff, Poser - hope to have a few more games when we're both online :toot: .

Great games Jawa, some of the best I've had online! Couldn't believe those first 2 games though, had lots of shots but just didn't take my chances. Whereas you were clinical! Have to admit, was happy to see you sliding in for that pen :D My chip down the middle thankfully worked!

Yeah, I use a 4-3-3 variation, the 4-2-1-3 and it really helps with creating chances.

Deffo up for more games sometime. Oh and sorry Poser, eventually realised it wasn't Jawa I was msging :fp:

My first-ever season in Online Division 6 did not go well. I've been relegated back to OD7 :( .

Played 10, won 2, drew 2 and lost 6. One guy I played and lost 4-0 to was just amazing; he picked a really duff team - one that I had not heard of! - and proceeded to play me off the park. I don't know how, but his players seemed so quick and nimble. Tackling-wise, he won every challenge and I'm normally pretty good at that. I didn't really feel annoyed, though, because he was so good at the game.

I did get frustrated losing to Man Utd again, though. They truly are my bogey team; Ibra just batters my defenders and De Gea saves everything.

My one remaining shred of pride was that I stuck with using Nice throughout.

Oh, well... a fresh season in OD7. I'll tackle that on Friday :toot: .

PES Universe have a good reputation for the quality of their option files. I am gonna give it a go later.

I still haven't tried it out but you could give it a go, KingK!

Finally got round to trying this. Downloaded V4 and currently watching the import update on my PS4. Fingers crossed all works. Thx Jawa

Edit: 60 mins later and it's still uploading the changes! Didn't realise it took this long
Edit2: :x 85 mins and it ran out of images space. Had to delete Edit data and will try again another time but looks like I'll have to deselect some updates (Asian leagues I'm guessing)

:o . I updated the kits on PES 2015 and 2016 but hadn't bothered with it for PES2017 as, until recently, I'd barely played it. I don't recall it taking that long to download but it was fiddly completing the updates; I think it took a couple of hours. It looked great once it was done, though!

Download was 20 mins roughly. But the install on ps4 took well over an hour and failed with about 8-10 left to do.

Tried a selective import but that didnt work for some reason. Will try later

Trouble is I think they pair up or something. Anyway I've doe t 2 hrs loading in this morning apart from the last dozen or so bin files. I still had to manually rename the EPL,Championship, FA Cup etc and load in their images but the team names and badges were correct.

However when attempting 2 player versus it told player 2 they couldn't use edited data? Ended up creating a 1 player exhibition game on my login which used edited days ok and then added a 2nd controller and then assigned that to the other team.

Bit of a faff all in all but it appears I have better and more accurate data than before!

Cheers for the games, man. You were on fire in that first game! I gotta try and cut out silly defensive mistakes... I need to just boot it out sometimes. In the last game I was desperate to hold on at the end. PES  .

There was some proper keystone cops defending from both of us in those games - I agree, sometimes just blootering it up the park is the answer. I'm going to spend more time with Crystal Palace - their midfield isn't great, aside from Cabaye, but the trio up front of Townsend, Zaha and Benteke means you'll definitely nick goals.

Re the bit in bold - can I ask a question and demand an honest answer? Is the way I play a little bit spammy? (feedback from Sawyer and dmin welcome here, too...)

I chase everything down and I know I probably use the 'close down' button(s) a bit too much. It leaves my players knackered, especially my two AMs, but I know it is frustrating to play against. Obviously when I'm doing online divisions, I don't mind spammy tactics against strangers, but I don't want to annoy you guys. :D

It clearly works, because I've lost about one game in the last 10 in online divisions (and that was a 1-0 against a very, very good player controlling FC Porto). It also works perfectly with Arsenal as, if I can nick the ball, they have so much pace to play on the counter.

Any feedback welcome, I won't be offended. 8-)

We need more games! :) But no, you weren't spammy. The games we had were all fairly close. There's ppl I play online who seem to intercept everything then fire it down the wing and cross to Ronaldo who wins every header. I call that spammy. Had so many drubbings like that. It ain't much fun!

Cheers guys.

I was taught a lesson last night against a guy with a 798 ranking. I lost 7-1, but it could have been double figures, easily.

He was #MadridSpamFC, but he used them in a way I've not seen anyone do: he played a 4-4-2 diamond, with Morata and Benzema up front. Bale was wide, Ronaldo was at the tip of the diamond.

He scored at least three goals with crosses into the box, heading it back to Ronaldo on the edge, who scored easily from 18 yards. It was definitely interesting, and a tactic I might look at imitating (albeit not with Madrid). That said, he must have been using off the ball controls because his players simply weren't following any of the predictable patterns.

Ronaldo certainly did far more damage from that position than in any other game I've played against Madrid.

Played three more games of Online Divisions this evening. In the first game I played someone who was just great at the game; he used some nondescript team whilst I used Nice and, although he only won 3-2, he was much the better player. I don't know how, but although his players were slower than mine they always seemed to be in just the right place at just the right time. Following that I came up against another good player; he was using Real Madrid and I could barely get a touch... I lost 6-0 and only had one shot  .

Then I played against Real again. I showed some grit this time and I knew that, if I could get a chance or two, I'd get a goal. Let battle commence!

I'm on a terrible run at the moment and in severe danger of being relegated from Online Division 7. It hasn't helped that I've faced up to Real with frustrating frequency, and Ronaldo is in that "press any button to score" form. I also played a chap using Swansea... and he was just brilliant. His players seemed to be everywhere and he won every physical battle; I couldn't find a way through, whilst he was banging in great crosses to Llorente. I got stuffed 4-0 and he even saved my penalty.

Hurrumph.
