I had a few serie a games and what struck me was how deep defences were compared to the faster paced premier league teams. I really feel that the presentation could be improved a lot and konami could offer customisation options in the future like uploading chants, game intro music (so we can add the champions league music if we want) and maybe an option to add ourselves into the game as a player. I haven’t had a chance to start a master league yet, but will try have a go.

Had some games on fifa, but unlike previous years, i do not feel the need to get both. Only time will tell!

You can do this on PC.

We should migrate GRcade to Flarum. :toot:

I haven't played the new one, but the menus in PES 2019 remain ridiculous. It needs a Western hand on it because they are so obtuse and illogical. I'd be interested to know if Japanese players find it makes sense to them.

You can decrease the game speed in options. Surely at its lowest level it cant still be to quick?

-1 felt a little bit too slow in some of the animations, so i reverted back to 0. The demo is the right pace imo.

Never been a pc gamer and even less reason these days. Console games seem to be including a lot more customisation options these days, so am hoping that the next version includes this on the ps5.

Put some more mods in, there's some really good stuff out there now. First of all I added an LFC menu theme, which is nice, got Divock Origi in all his glory on the menu page.

I got a scoreboard mod that alters the theme of the scoreboards and replay transitions based on what is being played. So when it's an EPL game, the Premier League logo replaces the purple "eFootball" logo between wipes, same for the UCL.

Lastly installed a couple more stadia, including this really nice looking Etihad stadium.

We should migrate GRcade to Flarum. :toot:

Patch that improves the gameplay is out now. Apparently it fixes issues with the player reactions to balls and also the distance between midfield and attack. I also hope the pace of the game is improved a bit.

Played a few games with the option file. Many improvements:

Slower gameplay like the demo
Improved dribbling
More face scanned players
More responsive controls
Less players looking at the ball
Better player switching

Best football game ever made

Konami will not release a full PES 2021

Season update to be sold instead, while development switches engines.

I tried to play a game on this as it was a monthly challenge on game pass quests. So many menus. Basically gave up after 20 mins without getting into a game of my team.

“New Football Game” beta is now available on Xbox

Konami has released an Online Performance Test for what is being called “New Football Game” on Xbox.

This is supposed to be an open beta for the next iteration of the eFootball PES franchise, which is now transitioning from the old Fox Engine to the Unreal Engine. The game was teased last July, before the 2021 edition was even released, and for some reason Konami has been avoiding calling it PES 2022.

The open beta is available worldwide on both Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S and will be available until July 8th 00:00 (UTC). The Microsoft Store listing confirms that the game will be Optimized for the new generation while also supporting Smart Delivery and cross-generation play.

Also on PS4/5.

PES 2022 Reportedly Plans To Go Full Free To Play Later This Year

New statements from Andy Robinson from VGC on the latest VGC Off The Record podcast, suggests that Konami is set to shake things up and make PES 2022 fully free-to-play.

At about twenty minutes into the show, Robinson says that "Konami are flickering to life" with the publisher set to bring changes to PES 2022. "They're going to go properly free-to-play and really change it up".

I'm pretty wary about this; I'd hate to see PES turn into some FIFA Ultimate Team competitor but that's undoubtedly where the money is.

I took a break from PES this past year but previous to that I'd enjoyed the Online Divisions mode for years. There are no additional payments or anything for this mode; it's just good fun. I hope that it survives during these potential changes.

This would definitely get back back into football games if it went free to play, I wouldn't even mind paying for the game up front, then just paying a small fee to date the teams for the upcoming season, I begrudge paying full cost every year for a footie game, hence why I haven't played FIFA for years.

As long as they maintain stuff like Master League and the aforementioned Online Divisions then I'd be all up for that!

Did anyone else try the New Football Game beta?

I thought it was awful. The graphics and controls were dire. Needs a helluva lot of work if this is anything to go by!

Tried to play a game over the weekend and ended up in blank black screen two times after matching up with an opponent.
